Mute Your CallWhile you are on a call, you can mute the audio, so that you can hear the other person, but they cannot hearyou.

If you have a video phone, when you mute your audio, your camera continues to transmit video.

When your have a call muted, the LED for the Mute button or bar lights red.

Procedure

Step 1 Do one of the following actions:

• Desk phones—Press Mute .

• Conference phones—Press Mute .

Step 2 Press Mute again to turn mute off.

Adjust the Phone Ringer VolumeIf your phone ringer is too loud or too soft when you get an incoming call, you can change the ringer volume.Changes to the ringer volume do not affect the call volume you hear when you are on a call.

Procedure

Choose one of the following options to adjust the ringer volume when the phone rings:

• Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series—Press Volume up or down.• Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series—Press Volume right or left.

• Cisco IP Conference Phone 7832—Press Volume up or down.

Change the RingtoneYou can change the sound that your phone uses for incoming calls.

Procedure

Step 1 Do one of the following actions:

• Desk phones:

a. Press Applications .

b. Select Settings > Ringtone.

• Conference phones—Select Settings > Preferences > Ringtone.

Step 2 Scroll through the list of ringtones and press Play to hear a sample.Step 3 Press Set to use the ringtone.

Adjust the Volume During a CallIf the sound in your conference phone is too loud or too soft, you can change the volume while you are listeningto the other person.

The Cisco IP Conference Phone 7832 does not have a handset or support a headset.

Adjust the Headset FeedbackWhen you use a headset, you can hear your own voice in the earpiece, which is called headset sidetone orheadset feedback. You can control the amount of headset sidetone on your phone.

The Cisco Conference Phone 7832 does not support a headset.

Procedure

Step 1 Press Applications .Step 2 Select Settings > Headset sidetone.Step 3 Select a setting.
