Winter Olympic Games were held in Sochi, Russia in February 2014. 2750 athletes took part in it, 233 Russian athletes were

among them.

German team took first four places in the toboggan.

Russian athlete Albert Demchenko won a silver medal.

Hockey is a favorite sport of Russian fans. Unfortunately, our team performed poorly. Canadian team won the first place, Sweden won

the second place, Finland – the third.

Russian figure skating team performed very successfully. Tatyana Volosozhar, Maxim Trankov and Adelina Sotnikova became

champions.

Holland team had an overwhelming advantage in speed skating. They won eight gold medals. Russian skater Olga Fatkulina won

a silver medal, Olga Graf won two bronze medals.

Norway team was the best in skiing. It took eight first places. Russian sportsmen took one gold medal (Alexander Legkov), three

silver medals and one bronze medal.

Short track competition took place at the Ice Palace “Iceberg”. Russian sportsman Victor An became the hero of the Olympic

Games in Sochi. He won three gold medals.

Alpine skiing is a very dangerous sport. The history of modern skiing begins at the end of the 18th century. Austrians

traditionally were the best at the Olympic Games. They won three gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

Russian bobsled team performed very well. Alexander Voevoda, Alexander Zubkov, Alexey Negodaylo, Dmitry

Trunenkov became champions.

Russian team performed very well and won the first place overall. It was a great holiday for all the people.

Closing ceremony of the Olympic Games took place on February 23. Guests of the Olympic Games watched

very beautiful performance.
