How Does It Work?All wastewater from the house (incl. toilets, showers, kitchen, etc.) goes to a concrete Septic Tank. Bacterial decomposition helps reduce the solids within the tank, whilst the liquid exits from the tank to a dosing chamber. This chamber has a submer-sible pump which pumps the partially treated wastewater over the surface of the Sand Filter. As the liquid travels through the Sand Filter, bacteria provide further treatment of the wastewater. This treated wastewater is collected from the Sand Filter into a dispersal chamber. From this dispersal chamber the treated wastewater is then either pumped, or fed by gravity (no pump) out to the approved dispersal area. This treated wastewater is available to re-use throughout your property via a number of methods. Can be used under lawn areas, on ornamental gardens or to tree belts.

As there are micro-organisms in any wastewater treatment system, it is advised to restrict the use of harsh chemicals or bleaches,as these can kill the micro-organisms and reduce the effectiveness of the system.
