Malvern Sportive 2014 Saturday 30th August

…for considering taking on a challenge for St Richard’s

Hospice. Challenges are not only good fun and provide a strong sense of personal achievement, but they are also a great way to raise money.We have come up with some suggestions of trips and experiences here in the UK and abroad, over different durations and endurance levels so there should be something to suit everybody.

Pru RideLondon100Sunday 10th August

Registration fee £45

Raise a minimum sponsorship of £500

Starting in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this event then follows a 100 mile route on closed roads through the Capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside. With a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the 2012 Olympics, it’s a truly spectacular event for all involved.

A supreme test of fitness! Participants complete a 6ish mile cross-country course with 10 different tests of strength along the way. Taking place at Eastnor Castle, mudrunners can enter one race or both as an individual or as a team. Discounts available for teams, minimum 3 people. Camping available at £5 per person.

This 52 mile and 8,000ft ascent challenge is a test of endurance requiring a certain degree of navigational skills!

Walk or run the 52 mile route as an individual or part of a team of 3 or 6 people.

Now in its third year, this popular event from Sixways Stadium takes a scenic route east from the City.

St Richard’s is delighted to be the chosen charity for the third year and runners are encouraged to support the Hospice further by ticking the box when registering. The Fundraising Department will then be in touch with sponsor forms and the link to Just Giving.

London NightRiderSat 7th-Sun 8th June

Join in this 100km moonlit cycle across London. Taking in the iconic sights of The Big Smoke, see The City as it sleeps. This popular and enjoyable challenge continues to bring in those cyclists looking for something different.

Paddle Plod PedalSaturday 19th July

£250 fundraising target for an individual or £2,500 target for a team of 10 people

Now in its fourth year, this popular and gruelling 45 mile challenge is not to be underestimated! This is a full day, competitive, endurance event starting with a paddle from Pershore to Tewkesbury, a walk to Kempsey and then a cycle ride back to Pershore. Open to teams and individuals this challenge is hard work but also a lot of fun!

£70 registration fee

Raise a minimum £500 sponsorship and St Richard’s will pay your jump costs of £180 for you!

To commemorate our 30th Anniversary, we are aiming to recruit 30 jumpers for each group jump day above. To be part of something amazing, contact the Fundraising Department for a free registration pack.

Starting from the Three Counties Showground, the route takes riders through Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, with the fantastic views of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains of Wales. Be part of the St Richard’s Team and you will be given a branded technical cycle jersey to wear.

Benidorm or Bust 30th April-4th May

£200 per car with two crew and £25 per extra crew member

Plus raise £250 sponsorship per person for St Richard’s Hospice

If you’re looking for something a bit wacky-races! … This is a 1,500 mile challenge from Blackpool to Benidorm split over five fun-packed days, all in an old banger costing no more than a few hundred quid!

Ferry crossing is included plus a day at the Cartagena Festival of Speed where you can test your car to its limits! Please note, this challenge is something completely different. A good sense of humour and direction is required! Contact the Fundraising Department for more information.

Option 2 Pay the full event cost of £1,400 (+ airport taxes) and raise as much sponsorship as you can.

Exploring Burma (Myanmar) is like discovering South East Asia as it was 20 years ago.

The diversity of its people, culture, and landscape combined with a rich history make it one of the most fascinating countries in the region. Discover a land of ancient temples, golden pagodas and magnificent monasteries where monks collect alms each morning. This spectacular Burma fundraising challenge takes place in the Shan Mountains. The cool mountain air, pine forests, beautiful landscape and hill tribe villages make it a perfect area for trekking.

In this national challenge St Richard’s has secured 5 places out of a possible 50.

See the final of the 2014 Tour de France!

This 300 mile, 4 day route takes you through glorious English countryside, and along quiet French country lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling green hills of northern France. Whether you are a regular cyclist, or simply enjoy a Sunday afternoon meander, this charity cycle event is perfect for you as all abilities are catered for. A support crew looks after your luggage, water and food leaving you to enjoy the ride. The pièce de résistance of this cycle for charity will be the spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower, which marks the finish line.
