Choose the courses that interest you from a long list of options. Check off International Marketing for your major, then take Renaissance Art & Architecture to feed your passion.

Interested in film? Choose Florence in the fall and get CET Italian language courses and housing while studying acting or filmmaking from the pros at the New York Film Academy.

CET SIENA

Dive deep into Italian language and culture in your classes then start practicing your new skills right away. Meet local students at an aperitivo or learn to cook a traditional dish with your homestay family.

Siena will welcome you with open arms and offers so much within its beautiful Medieval walls that you may never want to leave. But if you do, the rest of Europe is easy to get to and perfect for a weekend adventure.

HOUSING IN THE CITY CENTER

Get an authentic living experience as you share an apartment in Florence’s city center. You’ll be close to restaurants, cafés, shopping, nightlife, and the CET Center.

You’ll take all of your classes in the CET Center, a beautiful space located along the Arno River. Stay after class to study in the small library, hang out in the lounge, or talk to staff about your latest trip.

ACTIVITIES & TRIPS

Take a group trip to Rome and Tivoli on us. We’ll take you to must-see sites like the Vatican and the Colosseum plus give you plenty of time to explore on your own.

Spend your days exploring Florence and the Tuscan region. Climb the Duomo’s cupola for a 360-degree view. Learn how to make gelato in a cooking class. Head to the coastal town of Viareggio for a day at the beach.

Choose to stay with an Italian family or share an apartment with a local student. Head to the open-air market with your host mom. Bike through the winding roads of the Tuscan countryside with your roommate.

You’ll take your classes at the charming new CET Center. Study, hang out with friends, or jump on the wifi to plan your next day trip.

ACTIVITIES & TRIPS

On your Traveling Seminar to Sicily, study Greek and Roman ruins, try delicious arancini on a food tour, and take a guided hike of Mt. Etna.

Want to see more of Europe? Easily hop a train from Siena to Pisa, Rome, or Venice. Paris, Berlin, and Vienna are also just a plane ride away.

Study in Florence at the the New York Film Academy and hone your skills as an actor or director using gorgeous Florence as your backdrop.

Choose the Film Production or Acting track. Film Production students complete 6 digital film projects over the course of the semester. Acting students act in 2 monologues and collaborate on a shoot with fellow NYFA students. Best of all, you get the support, housing, and Italian language instruction provided to all CET Florence students.

ADMISSIONS, TRANSCRIPTS & HOST UNIVERSITY

CET partners with the New York Film Academy in Florence and the University of Virginia in Siena. In Florence, the University of Minnesota, CET’s School of Record, issues the transcript. In Siena, UVA issues the transcript. The official transcript lists each course taken with the corresponding grade earned and total contact hours. CET’s admissions requirements include an online application form, a transcript, a foreign language writing sample, and one letter of recommendation. WHO IS CET?

CET Academic Programs is a study abroad organization that has been developing and delivering innovative educational programs abroad since 1982. Originally “China Educational Tours,” CET began operations in Beijing, later expanding to other locations around the world. Today, CET offers a varied portfolio of semester, summer, and short-term customized programs around the world for college, high school, pre-college and gap year students.

CET is known for high program standards, strong academics, a nimble and collaborative approach to partnerships, and supportive student services. Through elements such as field-based course components, internships, community-based learning, and housing with local roommates, CET strives to integrate students into the local community and facilitate lasting relationships with hosts. CET SCHOLARSHIPS WHAT WE OFFERWe are committed to increasing access to study abroad. We offer over $300,000 in scholarship awards each year, and awards are intended to help alleviate student financial burden. Award amounts range from $500 to $1,500.

HOW TO APPLYYou’ll automatically receive a scholarship application when you apply for admission to a program. The application is simple. It requires a brief essay and asks what other forms of aid you anticipate receiving

AWARDSWe review scholarship applications only after reviewing program applications. Admissions decisions are need-blind. Scholarship decisions are need-based with priority given to those who receive Pell Grants. We’ll notify you about scholarships shortly after your admissions decision has been made.

CET & FUND FOR EDUCATION ABROAD

CET is a Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) Access Partner. FEA is an organization that provides grants and scholarships to US students who are traditionally underrepresented in education abroad. CET applicants are eligible to apply for CET Access Partner scholarships through FEA. Awards can range from up to $1,250 for summer programs, up to $5,000 for semester programs, and up to $10,000 for academic year programs.
