EZ Tech is a tablet-based software product providing needed workforce management, compliance, data capture, and reporting services to utility and energy companies through pipeline safety, field services, compliance, and power quality. In the field, remote workers enter information in specific data fields on GPS-enabled devices via EZ Tech. Workflows are designed to specifically streamline entries. Data is automatically transferred to secure data centers, allowing for management oversight and monitoring.

EZ Tech automatically tracks in real-time each movement of a remote worker and transmits specific information to our data center. The data reported then flows into a highly secure and scalable repository, enabling access via the web. Our system alerts quality control in the case of abnormal events, such as incongruent performance ratios or other anomalies. Aggregated reports can be accessed 24/7 either in standard templates or via customized reports. Users can receive unlimited access to reports showing time stamps, GPS-calibrated location data, and map overlays that trace the path of workers in the field. Since our products avoid redundant paper-based entries for reports, workers become far more productive and effective at recording on-site discoveries and analysis. In addition, fully electronic reporting eliminates discrepancies and inaccurate reporting(s) between departments by displaying a single, editable copy of a document. On the back end, managers are afforded unprecedented insights into worker performance while “on-the-minute” results allow for better project control and workflow management.

EZ Tech’s Four Major Elements

Data Tracking: EZ Tech automatically tracks each movement of a remote worker and transmits specific information to our data center.

Data Collection: All data reported from EZ Tech flows into a highly secure and scalable data

repository, enabling access on demand via the web. Data Analysis: EZ Tech alerts quality control in the case of abnormal events, such as incongruent

performance ratios or other anomalies. Reporting: Aggregated management reports can be accessed 24/7 either in standard templates or via

customized reports, and users receive unlimited access to generate reports showing: • Time stamps of when a worker was present at a particular location • Address-specific latitude and longitude information • Breadcrumb map overlays tracing the progress of the worker

Some significant features and benefits of EZ Tech include:

Tracking • Continuous, real time GPS location verification • Breadcrumb trails for audit purposes • Activity level verification (landmark activity over time)

Collection

• Capture of abnormal operating condition with GPS location and meter numbers • Capture map and plat number

Analysis

• Access to leak related data for use in real time management of field resources • Productivity metrics for performance, services per hour, time per ticket, etc. • Monitor compliance at the map level with custom warning indicators for survey and repair • Supervisor screens for validating and editing data

Reporting

• Elimination of field generated paper reports and tags • Data can be exported by the client any time for use with client systems • Data handoffs between departments and systems are quick and efficient

Results: Customers report that EZ Tech increases overall productivity by at least 20%. In addition, customers indicate that they are able to make management decisions with greater precision and speed as a result of the EZ Tech system. Accurate data recording and entry is critical for optimal management. Leveraging EZ Tech in the field ensures that data is recorded and entered only once, eliminating needless duplication and avoiding potential mistakes that all too often plague simple paper forms. In addition, EZ Tech provides an electronic dataset that can act as a proof source for regulatory compliance. Applications: While EZ Tech can be used in a number of different industries, it is most often used in the following arenas:

Pipeline Safety and Monitoring: With safety foremost in the minds of natural gas companies and Public Utility Commissions, many are requiring proof of performance of pipeline safety and corrosion surveys, valve inspections and odorant testing. Field Services: With the deployment of new technologies like AMR and the remediation of older existing meters, gas and electric utilities are in a constant search for new tools to enhance their remote field services. Compliance and Reporting: Across the board, companies are in continuous quality improvement mode, requiring accurate monitoring of remote workforces, rapid data analysis and validation of field audits. Power Quality: Electric utilities deploy technicians to survey voltage potential on electrical distribution system components and remediate those needing repair.
