• Require electric utilities to provide at least 25% of their annual retail sales of electricity from renewable energy sources, which are wind , solar, biomass, and hydropower, by 2025.

• Limit to not more than 1% per year electric utility rate increases charged to consumers only to achieve compliance with the renewable energy standard.

• Allow annual extensions of the deadline to meet the 25% standard in order to prevent rate increases over the 1% limit.

• Require the legislature to enact additional laws to encourage the use of Michigan made equipment and employment of Michigan residents.

Ambulance Services

This proposal will permit the County to levy up to .30 mills for the purpose of providing funds to support ambulance services within the county in the years 2012-2015, inclusive. Shall the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on the amount of ad valorem taxes which may be levied by the County of Cheboygan , State of Michigan, against taxable property in the County be increased by up to .30 mills ( $.30 per $1 ,000 of taxable value ) for a period of four (4) years, 2012 through 2015, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds to support ambulance services within the county, and shall the Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy such millage for this purpose? If approved in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $393,930 for Cheboygan County in 2012.

On the Ambulance Millage Proposal YES received the largest number of notes and it is declared that said Proposition PASSED.

STATE PROPOSALS

On the Proposition State Proposal 12-1 that NO received the largest number of votes and it is declared that said Proposition DID NOT carry in this County.

That Roderick Baltzer & George Pike having received the largest number of votes is elected to the office of School Board Members (6-year terms).

That Robert A. Nelson having received the largest number of votes is elected to the office of School Board Members (term expiring 12/31/14).

INLAND LAKES SCHOOLS

That Carol M. Sackett & Zachariah A. Skiera having received the largest number of votes is elected to the office of School Board Members (4-year terms).

That Susan Hitts having received the largest number of votes is elected to the office of School Board Members (term expiring 12/31/14).

WOLVERINE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

That Sarah Coale & Douglas A. Whitcomb having received the largest number of votes is elected to the office of School Board Members (6-year terms).

MACKINAW CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

That James Bell & Edward Trudeau having received the largest number of votes is elected to the office of School Board Members (6-year terms).

That Dan Durant & D. Sam Staffan having received the largest number of votes is elected to the office of School Board Members (term expiring 12/31/14).


CHEBOYGAN AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPOSAL


Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 18 mills ( $18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation ) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Cheboygan Area Schools, Cheboygan and Presque Isle Counties, Michigan, be renewed for a period of 2 years, 2013 and 2014, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2013 is approximately $4,986,170 (this is a renewal of millage which will expire with the 2012 tax levy)?

On the School Millage Proposal YES received the largest number of notes and it is declared that said Proposition PASSED.

WOLVERINE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS PROPOSALS


Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 18 mills ( $18.00 on each $1 ,000 of taxable valuation ) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Wolverine Community School District, Cheboygan County, Michigan, be renewed for a period of 2 years, 2013 and 2014, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2013 is approximately $812,350 (this is a renewal of millage which will expire with the 2012 tax levy)?

On the School Millage Proposal YES received the largest number of notes and it is declared that said Proposition PASSED.
