Innovative Optical Technologies

The LED TTL coaxial surface light provides a white bright field to fully illuminate the part.

The Oblique (Dark Field), Ring-light provides 8 white LEDs and 6 selectable patterns with continu-ously variable intensity control.

A high-brightness green LED backlight provides crisp profile images.

Telecentric optics are the foundation of all CCP comparators. Each model in the CCP lineup uses one of our unique optical designs to ensure size measurements are accurate even when the image is not perfectly focused, allowing any user to achieve accurate measurements with ease.

All CCP comparators provide a constant working distance between the front lens and the part being mea-sured at all available magnifications. It is never necessary to reposition or re-stage a part when a different magnification is selected.

CCP’s exclusive relay lens system maintains a constant f-number for all magnifications. The profile light collimating lens is well matched to the front receiving lens for optimum optical resolution.

Common Features for Maximum Productivity

CC-14L offers the innovative fea-tures of modern CCP comparators at a low cost. CC-14L has a 14-inch screen and comes standard with 10X lens, 12” x 4” stage travel, and TruLight® variable intensity LED lighting.

Our most popular model, featuring TruLight® LED lighting and a con-venient 12” x 5” stage travel. CC-14 also offers the VidiProbe™ video measurement package and a variety of other options that enable it to handle any manufacturing challenge.

Floor Model Comparators

Video Comparators

The CC-V is the world’s most capable horizontal Video Contour Projector™ with all video-based imaging and measurement. Like all CCP comparators, the CC-V’s unique optical system is fully telecentric, ensuring accurate size measurements throughout its depth of field. The digital megapixel camera measures the entire field of view in one snapshot, enabling dozens of features to be measured at once. Six instantly available standard magnifications enable inspection of small features up-close. Powerful Measure-X® 2D software allows manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic measurement routines to be created for fast, repeatable measurement - time after time. The unique CAD overlay mode enables quick visual comparison of the part image to the CAD design. Optional touch-screen control makes CC-V easier than ever to use!

CC-V

The Video Contour Projector™ is a new breed of optical comparator which combines precision optics with digital video technology to enable fully auto-mated, high resolution measurement on a horizontal comparator.

The CC-30S offers a unique side-screen design which allows the op-erator to stand very close to the large, 30-inch screen for easy visual inspection. The image is upright and un-reversed for easy operation, and the standard lighting ensures a bright screen with sharp imaging. The CC-30S offers a high payload 15” x 10” motorized stage with a generous 21-inch throat clearance enabling extra-large parts to be staged for measure-ment.

CC-30SThe CC-30 offers a bright 30-inch screen displaying an upright and un-reversed image with compact foot-print for a 30-inch machine. CC-30 is equipped with a standard profile light, motorized 15” x 9” travel, and a rota-ry screen ring with digital protractor. The CC-30 can be equipped with op-tional ImageCapture™, EdgeScan™ or Projectron™, eChek™ and high-resolution scales.

The CC-20 combines TruLight® LED profile light with a proven optical system that projects an upright and un-reversed image for easy opera-tion. The 20-inch screen and 15” x 9” motorized stage travel offer a large viewing area with crisp im-aging and a high payload capacity. Optional LED surface lighting, Edg-eScan™ or Projectron™ and eCAD® extend CC-20’s capabilities with complete automation.

Digital Readouts

CCP offers a choice of Quadra-Chek or QVI Q-Check® digital readout controllers for all new comparators. Quadra-Chek™ 200 & 300 controllers are available as options. All the DRO models offer intuitive user interfaces and simple, meaningful displays that reduce errors, improve operator productivity and save time and money.

The QVI Q-Check Digital Readout with its dual backlit 2-line LCD displays and durable construction is designed to survive in almost any shop environment. Its full geometric processing power makes quick work of tough measurements.

More than a simple DRO, this multi-function controller can quickly measure angles, radii, diameters, widths, intersections/included angles, distances, roundness, and straightness. The shop-hardened keypad allows selection of cartesian or polar coordinates, inch or metric units, and absolute or incremental modes, set zero points and skew alignment and recall of previous measurements.

Q-Check supports Projectron™ auto edge detection and VidiProbe™ video measurement systems, and interfaces with the eCAD® virtual chart gage system.

QC-100 digital readouts have a monochrome flat-panel screen for displayed values, dialogs and soft keys. The robust, die-cast aluminum enclosure ensures precision - even in a harsh environment.

The QC-200 digital readouts function as mea-suring computers for 2D geometries. Create automatic measuring programs, and apply toler-ance values to features and relationships.

The QC-300 is the most sophisticated optical comparator controller in the industry. The touchscreen offers intuitive graphical display of measured data points and errors, creating visual results that are readable at a glance.

Software

Measure-X 2D® makes it simple to measure parts and create automatic measurement routines using the VidiProbe™ video automation package, or the CC-V Video Contour Projector™. Measure-X 2D can be used by operators with little or no training, yet is powerful enough to satisfy all your measurement demands.

The easy to use interface offers a highly productive work environment. The oversized Image, Model, Program List, and Print Data windows simplify operation and increase productivity.

A CAD overlay superimposed on the video image allows easy visual confirmation of actual dimensions compared to the CAD design. Measured values can be printed on the model or live image windows for quick visual reference.

Measure-X 2D integrates easily with optional QC-CALC, SmartReport® and MeasureFit® to enhance your data analysis.

QC-Calc™ — Analyze and export data to spreadsheets, databases, and other SPC programs automatically.

QC-Wedge — Communicate be-tween a Quadra-Check DRO and a Microsoft Windows®-based PC.

SmartReport® — Export data to custom reports or databases for further analysis or archiving.

eChek™ automatic measurement software combines the benefits of motorized X,Y stages and automatic edge detection to create completely automatic measurement routines. Set up a program once, and run it time and time again for maximum productivity and precision. eChek’s unique CAD based programming option allows entire parts or sections of parts to be programmed simply by indicating the area to be measured. Just click and drag to define the measurement zone in the CAD model, and let eChek do the programming for you.

Digital Automation

Edge Scan™ operates with the Quadra-Chek DRO controllers. The EdgeScan sensor is mounted be-hind a high efficiency beamsplitter that does not interfere with the image forming optics.

External Edge Detection - Offered on CC-14L and CC-16L, an externally mounted fiber optic cable located at the center of the viewing screen can be swung out of the way when not needed.

Digital image tools allow the optical comparator to perform more types of measurements faster and more accurately than by traditional manual methods.

Automatic Edge Detection uses electronic image analysis to determine when an edge is aligned to the screen center-line. Edge detection provides fast, accurate, and repeatable measurements between operators. CCP offers a choice of three types of auto edge detection:

Exclusive eCAD® (patent pending) projects an accurately magnified CAD model directly onto the comparator screen, presenting a virtual chart gage, including nominal dimensions and tolerance bands.

The virtual chart is linked to the screen image in an instant. When you move the worktable, the projected CAD image follows the screen image automatically. Change magnification lenses and the eCAD chart changes size automatically. eCAD eliminates the need for a large inventory of specialized chart gages.

Projectron™ provides greater accuracy when the light intensity varies due to part characteristics. Projectron edge detection operates with the Q-Check DRO controller. Projectron is mounted inside the comparator so it stays aligned, unlike external edge detection.

VidiProbe™ transforms the traditional optical comparator into a fully automatic inspection system using Measure-X® 2D software.

On CC-14 models a digital megapixel video camera is installed in the lens turret. When video measurement is needed, simply select the video lens position for fully automatic video measurements.

On CC-16 and CC-20 models, the video camera is internally mounted to enable simultaneous measurements using both the analog comparator screen and the digital video with Measure-X 2D.

ImageCapture™ involves an inter-nal camera that captures a precise image of the screen display which can be annotated and saved for quality record keeping, analysis and troubleshooting. Simple, manual measurements may be taken and recorded. Video Image Express™ software enables single or multiple scenes to be recorded as a video so that an entire measurement sequence can be played back.
