1 TOMI L A AMANENHaving occupied various academic and managerial positions at Aalto University in Finland, Professor Tomi Laamanen, who has doctorates in the fields of finance and strat- egy, was appointed Professor for Strategic Management at the University of St.Gallen in 2011. His research focuses on the factors involved in the success of acquisition programs, strategy processes, the handling of strategic issues and sequences, management cognition, and strategy implementation. The findings from these research projects have been pub- lished in leading international journals. He also serves as a reviewer and editor for a number of prestigious academic publications. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors at a number of companies and also works as a strategy consultant.
2 THORSTEN TRUI JENSDr. Thorsten Truijens is one of the most success- ful HSG lecturers in the areas of controlling and finance, and is a winner of the Best Teacher Award of the Full-Time MBA and the Omnium Global Executive MBA. He is a managing partner at Controlling Partner St. Gallen AG and
supports renowned multinational companies in implementing value-oriented management. In the form of the web-based training course on financial management, he has developed an internationally recognized training instrument that has been successfully incorporated in the programs of the University of St.Gallen for some time.
3 HE IKE BRUCHThe work of Professor Heike Bruch on organiza-tional energy and self-management has provided important impetus in the area of leadership research and has gained considerable interna- tional recognition. More than 700 companies worldwide use energy profiles as a means of in- creasing leadership effectiveness. In 2007, she was recognized as the leading HR researcher in the German-speaking region. She is Direc- tor of the Institute for Leadership and Human Resources Management at the University of St.Gallen, founder of the consultancy firm Energy Factory, and a member of numerous specialist committees. Her most recent book is entitled Fully Charged: How Great Leaders Boost Their Organization’s Energy and Ignite High Performance.
