bruce harthealth & social care lecturerBruce has spent over 20 years working in hospitals across the departments oforthopaedic, gastroenterology, outpatients and accident and emergency. He has alsogained considerable experience in a head injuries unit. Bruce completed aFoundation Degree in Forensic Science at Wigan & Leigh College whilst workingpart-time as an agency nurse. Having worked in Further Education for the past fouryears, Bruce specialises in Biology on the Level 2, Level 3 and Access courses.
Pat boyne – health & social care lecturer, Personal tutor & Pastoral suPPortPat plays a major role in the pastoral support of our Health & Social Care learners.With many years’ experience in the nursing profession, she worked as anOccupational Health Nurse, a Ward Manager in north-west hospitals and is a trainedCounsellor. Pat moved into the Further Education sector after achieving herCertificate in Education and now teaches on Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4(University level education) courses.
Jackie Pearsonhealth & social care lecturer & Personal tutorJackie has gained considerable experience in the care sector having spent tenyears as a Home Care Manager, working across the community. Qualified to Level 3in Care, Jackie then achieved her Level 6 Management qualification. Previously shehas worked with people with learning and physical disabilities and as a TeachingAssistant. Jackie teaches across all levels of further education and specialises inteaching on the social care career pathway.

Debbie causer health & social care lecturerDebbie is passionate about teaching and in 2013 achieved a Masters degree in Education andResearch. Also holding a degree in Social Work, Debbie has developed a wealth of experienceacross the social care sector. Her decision to move into a teaching role stemmed fromworking in the education sector across North West prisons. To gain valuable experience,Debbie volunteered for many years with the Citizens Advice Bureau on the Mental HealthOutreach Team. Debbie now teaches on all programmes from Level 1 to Level 4.
