Happy December Central families, WOW, December is here with all the excitement and wonder of the season. We hope that you have “Jammies and Jingle Bells” on your calendar, it is Monday, December 11 from 5:30-7 pm. Please join us for this fun night for families to wear their jammies and participate in a variety of games and activities. Have you seen our Giving Tree inside by the front door? It is a place to donate boxes of cereal which will go directly to the Snohomish Food Bank. We are so happy to give back to our amazing community and invite you and your family to send in cere-al to add to our donation. I want to take a minute to feature our WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program. It began in 1998 by two fathers who wanted to be in the schools to support students and provide positive relation-ships. Dads, uncles, grandpas and other significant adult males can sign up to spend a day at Central – being in rooms, playing on the playground, listening to students read, providing additional safety in our crosswalks, helping in the library, and walking the halls with our amazing students and staff. If you are interested in participating, please stop by our office for a volunteer background check and take a look at the openings on our calendar. We would love to have you! A big thanks to Sean Halliburton for being our Top Dog this year, and organizing our Dads and Donuts last month. It is going to be a quick month as we dismiss at 11:30 on Dec. 15 for our Winter Break. My wish for all Central families is a happy, healthy holiday season filled with joy and laughter. Hello families! My name is Connie Hellmund and this is my third year working at Central. My job is to provide in-struction to our English Language Learners (ELL) and to be a liaison between our Spanish speaking families and the staff. It is a privilege to spend time with your children, thank you for sharing them with us! 360-563-4616
Attendance Line: Please call the attendance line at 360-563-
4602 to report an absence. This line is available 24 hours a day
to leave your message. Students must be fever free for 24 hours
before returning to school. This helps the spread of communi-
cable disease. Thank you for your cooperation.
Afternoon transportation changes: If you are making a change
to your child’s afternoon transportation plan please send a note
in the morning or call the office by 1:30. This will enable us time
to make sure your child receives a bus pass.
Names on notes please: When sending lunch money or end of day notes to school with your child, please always write your child's first name, last name and teacher’s name on the enve-lope or note. All notes and lunch money are sent to the office and it is sometimes difficult to know which “Johnny or Jane” they belong to. We have many students here at Central who share the same first name.
If your student is going home with another student on the bus, we need to know the bus route #, the bus stop and the first and last name of the student they are going home with. Dress for the weather: Parents, please help make sure your student comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather since most days our students will be going outside for recesses.
Thank you!
In the case of inclement weather please check the school district website for information on late starts or school closures at www.sno.wednet.edu or the district facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/snohomishschooldistrict. The district will send out a phone message if school is closed or is on a late start.
