There have been many challenges during 2010 including the severe economic downturn, reduced government reimbursement and increasing governmental regulations. Central Coast VNA and Hospice has persevered, due to the steadfast commitment and dedication of donors, the leadership and guidance of our Boards, and our heroic staff who unwaveringly believe in our mission to the communities that we serve. To this end, we are grateful and recognition goes to the hard working and dedicated staff, Boards, donors and the community.

Heartfelt thanks to: ♦ the visiting home care staff who provide the excellent quality care to our patients; ♦ the office support staff who process the reams of paperwork; ♦ the extended services staff who provide private pay and niche oriented services; ♦ the dedicated Medical Directors who provide medical expertise to clinical staff and

patients; ♦ the accounting, billing, MIS and human resources staff who provide the support to

the personnel and operation of the organization; ♦ the Adult Day Services staff who provide specialized senior support services; ♦ the Hospice team which gives compassionate and supportive care for our terminally

ill patients and their families; ♦ the administrative staff who led the charge during the peaks and valleys ; ♦ the Boards of VNA & Hospice who provide the guidance, support and belief in the

agency’s mission and goals; ♦ the Development staff who worked to write the grants and obtain charitable funds to

further the organization’s mission; ♦ the donors who gave so generously to serve all patients regardless of ability to pay; ♦ the community for your continuing and dedicated support of the organization. Together, we will continue the caring for the community for the years to come. Foundation Board Tom Mill was elected Chair, Tad Ceyer Vice Chair and John Meyer Treasurer for 2010. All board mem-bers serve without compensation. All Foundation board members graciously assisted with fundraising events and other VNA activities. 100% of all VNA board members made a gift to the organization during 2010.

Foundation Staff 2010 saw further reductions in our development department with Tina Del Piero becoming the only full time employee as Director of Fund Devel-opment, Planned Giving Officer and Media/Communications liaison. Mar-garet Spight continued as Develop-ment’s part-time database clerk as well as keeping her standing in the VNA Managed Information System Department. Sue Dollemore contin-ued as a Contract Grant Coordinator and various student volunteers round-ed out our team.
