October 6 Veteran’s Hall Public Jetty, Henderson Road, Saratoga Map 97 G13

Popular with tourists, the public area at the Skillion very much improved through landscaping, is more accessible now for painting

The location at North Entrance is on the left, just over the bridge. There is a car park but toilet facilities are across the main road in

the park. You can look across the channel to the fishing Co-Op /boat hire jetty on the other side of the bridge.

Katandra Reserve is a lovely natural setting with beautiful gum trees. It is quite dense bush so there are not views out.

The Waterfall cafe is the entrance to the Mt Penang Gardens. For those who would like to go and paint inside the gardens there is a

small fee to pay. In the outside grounds there are numerous building and nice paperbark trees.

It is hard to say if there will be any waratahs, however it does make a nice morning out in the bush; a beautiful natural locations that

offers so much to paint even without waratahs. Hopefully someone will put a marker out to say where the spot is. It is past the Pearl

Beach turn, on the right at the top of the hill. There is a car parking area and a lock gate which is the entrance to the Brisbane Water

National Park and the start of the Van Dahls walking track. It is well marked in the street directory.

Veterans Hall Public Wharf has a public shelter, limited car but plenty of street/verge parking. The jetty which makes a good subject

Come along and enjoy our paintout mornings. There is no starting or finishing times. Come and go as you please. Morning tea is at

WINTER EXHIBITION 2015 REPORT

The exhibition looked great. We fitted 115 paintings from 60 artists and sold 8 paintings, lots of cards but very low sales with jewellery and pottery. It was a big job hanging to fit them in, so thanks to members on duty and especially George Palagyi and Ken Hoste. We had good numbers through, even though some mornings were very quiet, the count was over 920. Thanks to Kathy Smith MP for Gosford, who opened the exhibition and was very impressed with the work. People's Choice vote was won by Dennis Whalen, with the Mandarins, and we had equal 2nd to Fran Mackey and Sue Jokinen. Thanks to everyone who did roster duty throughout.

Judith Hoste, Exhibition Co-Ordinator
