B DESCRIPTION

Plant type Dry process

clinker production line with pre-heater

tower technology. The

plant will be equipped with a

4 - stage preheater tower and pre-calciner section for 25 % fuel input.

Process description and

performance expectations:

Group A Quarry

Page 9: Cement Plant 2500 To

400 t/h limestone with a product size of 0 – 30 mm. The average production at

site with a medium

crushable limestone was

700 – 750 t/h at a product size of 0 – 70 mm. Group B Raw

material grinding The raw material

grinding plant consists mainly

of a KHD Humboldt

Wedag Tandem mill grinding system. This

system consists of a

combination of a hammer mill

and a short tube mill. The system in general is described hereafter:

The impact hammer mill of

the Tandem drying-grinding plant works in conjunction

with a short air-swept tube mill.

Instead of a grate, the

impact hammer mill is

furnished with a solid bottom. The materials

leaving the

compartment tube mill which is equipped with classifying lining. A partial gas stream passes the tube mill for additional drying of the mill feed. After passing a

discharge diaphragm, the ground material is carried by means of the mill blower\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s return air through the ascending duct to the air flow classifier.

A cyclone system to separate the raw mix and a mill blower complete the plant\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s equipment.

Group C Preheater tower section – delivery of drawings Our offer includes the engineering services for a new preheater tower section. The design of the preheater tower is based on the characteristics of the raw materials to be processed on the fact that natural gas will be used as fuel for the kiln. In order make full use of the cooler capacity the preheater tower will be equipped with 4

cyclone stages and will be designed for pre-calcining. About 25 % of the necessary fuel will be introduced into the preheater tower calcining section. The combustion

air will be drawn trough the kiln tube – no tertiary air duct will be necessary. Group D Kiln and cooler section

The offered kiln was originally manufactured by KHD Humboldt Wedag AG, Cologne. With it’s dimension 4,8 m x 76 m and 3 roller stations the kiln tube is

able to produce 2750 t of clinker per day. The cooler was made in 1969 by CPAG in Hamburg / Germany and modernised in

the year 1989. On this occasion a clinker roller crusher of latest technology was installed. As the cooler grate plates were used as spare parts for an identical unit

still in use the cooler will be supplied with new grate plates. The cooler has a grate area of 73 m². With a clinker production of 2750 t per day

the specific cooler load is 37,6 t/m² * day. Group E Cement grinding

The Cement grinding plant is equipped with a tube mill made by TCEC. The dimension of the tube mill is designed for an effective grinding path of 13,11 m. The chamber division is 4,305 for chamber 1 and 8,805 for chamber 2. The mill

has installed 3800 kW via central drive system.

Page 10: Cement Plant 2500 To

impact hammer mill and the tube mill are

pneumatically conveyed to

one common air flow classifier. Before entering

the impact hammer mill,

the raw material with particle sizes of about 70 - 100 mm, passes first a pre-drying

track, equipped with a double flap valve and with deflector

plates. The drying gases are

introduced through the upper of this pre-drying

track, which is adjusted to the moisture of the raw material. The pre-dried raw material, together with

the drying gases enters the

impact hammer mill.

The discharge of the hammer mill in the size of 0 –10 mm,

containing according to its

grindability about 15 - 35%

of finished product, is

carried by the gas stream through an

ascending duct

As separator the grinding plant makes use of a cyclone separator of the 2nd generation. The separator is build by TCEC and based on the KHD Humboldt

Wedag design of the so called “ZUB” separators. The separator operates as closed circuit separator with 6 cyclones.

At its coupling the mill can transfer 3800 x 095 = 3610 kW effectively. A usual grindability for OPC cement with 2800 – 3000 cm²/g acc. Blaine varies between 27

and 30 kWh/t finish cement. By this a final capacity of 120 – 130 t/h can be expected.

Currently the mill is equipped with a Polysius Polycom high pressure grinding mill as pre-grinder. This unit is available as option.
