The material is ideally dispersed in a multistage dispersing disk system and distributed evenly in the air stream at the separation zone, around the rotor.

In the classifying zone the material is affected by centrifugal-, drag- and flow forces. Depending

Especially in the cement production sector it is essential to ensure an effective upper temp era-ture limit to prevent negative impacts as a result of excessively high temperatures. CMP realizes this by means of a fresh air system with a con-trol concept which is especially adapted to the process. Investment costs for c ement c oolers can be saved by this fresh air fl ap s ystem.

COOLING AND DRYING PROCESS

It is possible to dry products during the clas-sifying process with this system. Therefore, the classifi er is charged with hot gas instead of fresh air. For economic reasons and in terms of reducing CO2 emissions, it is appropriate to use existing warm exhaust air, for example from the preheater.

MATERIALS uSED FOR wEAR PROTECTION

In order to guarantee high service life, all parts of the CEMAG Classifier which are exposed to wear are of wear-resistant materials as standard design. The housing parts are lined with mineral stone compound, cast basalt or mineral mortar.

The number and size of installed inspection doors and flaps guarantee an easy maintenance and inspection of the classifier inside.

Since the market launch of the fi rst classifi ers at the end of the 19th century, additional cl assifi er gener ations have been developed – pushed f orward by the world-wide demand for more e ffi cient c l assi fyi ng solutions and high-quality products.

The fan and fi ne material separation of the C yclone Recirculating Air-Classifi er of the 2nd gene ration (since approx. 1960) have been installed outside, which led to an improved regulation of the pro duct fi neness.

The CEMAG Cross Flow-Classifi er belongs to the 3rd generation and works with a cage system instead of the traditional counter-wings. The cage is streamed according to the cross-fl ow-principle and thus achieves again a remarkably increased effi ciency.

The pictures document the result of the modernisation of a white cement plant in Harmignies/Belgium. The diagram shows the effi ciency improvement of the grinding and classifying process. In this plant the existing 1st generation classifi er has been replaced by a CEMAG Classifi er of the 3rd generation.
