The Practice was formed in 1981 out of a uK wide based
Practice which was founded in 1928.
In 2005 upon the retirement of the only remaining founding
partner the company underwent a buyout by four time-
served key members of the management team, this process
also included the incorporation of the practice.
We are proactive in our approach and explore a range of
options in order to achieve the best possible design. Our
overall aim is to produce designs of the highest quality and
to ensure that where practicable costs remain within budget
and construction programmes run to schedule.
We have a continually growing list of satisfied clients, with
many of whom we have developed long term relationships.
We have successfully completed a number of projects on
a repeat business basis as a result of our performance and
the success of past commissions.

The Practice currently operates as a private limited company
out of a modern bespoke office local to the commercial
centre of the City of Cardiff.
The philosophy of the Practice is based on a personal, user
friendly service with an emphasis on technical excellence.
The technical base is headed by the four Directors who also
fulfil the role of Project Directors.
The in house design management structure is well defined
having been established for a considerable length of time
with highly motivated long term employees who have a
proven technical ability and a keen interest in the future
success of the Practice. This results in good internal team
spirit with the prime objective of Client satisfaction.
In particular the active involvement of the designated Project
Director at the conceptual stage ensures that the most
economical overall design solution is achieved and his
continued involvement throughout the project in technical
and programming aspects ensures that the initial pro-active
momentum created is carried through to the completion of
the project.

Bingham Hall is a pro-active, commercially aware Practice
and continues to deliver the same principles in the design
and build market. In recent years we have successfully
consolidated working relationships with several local
authorities, public departments, trusts, registered social
landlords and national building contractors forming
part of design teams involved in public building, social
accommodation, healthcare and education projects secured
through both partnering and framework agreements and on
an individual project basis.
Bingham Hall is a partnering framework team member
responsible for design services for clients for several local
authorities and has been successful as part of the Welsh
Health Estates Design For Life being a supply chain partner
for civil and structural engineering consultancy services.
Most recently we have been appointed as consulting
engineers by the Syniad Development Consortium, a
consortium of three Registered Social Landlords who,
combined, aim to procure projects throughout Wales.
In addition to the normal scope of services expected of a
Consulting Civil & Structural Engineering company we can
provide traffic management and impact assessments, ground
modelling, geo-technical & geo-environmental reports and
flood studies in response to Tan 15 requirements.

Bingham Hall produces designs which are affordable,
creates safe and healthy environments, which are low
maintenance and robust, are sustainable and have low
energy in use, are innovative and flexible to change.
At the project inception, feasibility and scheme design
stages the Project Director constantly aims to achieve good
practice in sustainable design and construction wherever
possible which we consider forms an integral part of the
whole life cycle cost analysis.
This ethos is carried through the final design and
construction stages of the project influencing every aspect
of our design process. We aim to provide buildings which
are highly efficient in use and when ultimately dismantled are
recyclable.
We regularly specify recycled materials hence reducing
landfill with its associated costs. We regularly use suitable
crushed demolition material and industrial waste, such as
inert slag as filling materials.
We specify that construction materials, where practical, are
obtained from sustainable managed sources.

Sustainability
Practice Profile06
With the ever decreasing availability of ‘green field’ sites, we
have gained considerable experience in the reclamation of
‘brown field’ sites, particularly by insitu treatment methods.
The ever increasing restrictions on surface water drainage
disposal have led us to investigate alternative forms of
disposal. We have successfully used Sustainable urban
Drainage Systems/Solutions on a number of sites and
always investigate other possibilities. We have successfully
incorporated rainwater harvesting systems into our designs
on a number of recent schools projects.
Customers
Bingham Hall continues to actively develop mutually
beneficial relationships with all those with whom we do
business. We regularly review our business processes
with a view to improving quality and productivity, thereby
enhancing our ability to create value, whilst at the same time
working to achieve the aspirations of sustainable building
designs.
In support of this, all Binghall Hall staff are encouraged to
innovate in their design in the pursuit of a continual drive for
technical excellence.
