Skill or Concept: Female Reproductive Parts

Notes: • A graphic of a flower

diagram will float onto the screen on the right side . This graphic helps the learner visualize the female reproductive parts.

• The coach will appear on the screen to explain the pistil and its parts. This works a pre-taining because the coach is introducing each definition that will be discussed.

• There will be a green continue button on the bottom right corner side of the screen which will take the learner to the next slide.

• This segment separates the female parts from the other parts so it is easier for the learner to understand.

• When the student select each part they will hear a description of each part. This allows the learner to learn at their own pace.

Text/Audio Narration: Coach, “First let’s take a look at the female parts. The pistil is the female part of a flower. It is composed of the stigma, style, ovary, and ovule. Click on each part to hear more about them.” When clicked on they will hear “The stigma is sticky and is were pollen grains are received. The style is the stalk of a pistil, between the stigma and the ovary. This is where pollen tube grow. The ovary is the large part of the base that contains the ovule. The ovule is the part of the ovary that becomes the seeds.”

Text/Audio Narration: Audio, “Now lets talk about the male parts. The male part of a flower is called a stamen. The stamen is made up of an anther and filament. The inside of the anther is made up of pollen grains and pollen sacs. Click on each part of the anther to learn more.” When clicked on, “The pollen grains are a fine powder which produce the sperm. Sperm is produced in the pollen sacs. The filament carries nutrients to the anther”
