Andrea is the daughter of Dave and Vicki Bartlett ofForest City. Andrea’s grandparents are Clarence andFern Willand of Lake Mills, Iowa.

James’ parents are Al and Nita Severson of Fertile. Heis the grandson of Irine Peterson of Thompson, Iowa.

Maid of honor was Samantha Bartlett. Andrea’s otherattendants were Annette Honken, Molly Burch, AbbyMathis, and Amanda Kuiken. Best man was Todd Sever-son. James’ other attendants were Tim Severson, JeffMidtgaard, Jeff Houk, and Brian Rayhons.

A reception was held at Diamond Jo Casino, North-wood, Iowa.

Andrea graduated from Forest City High School(2006) and Wartburg College. Andrea is employed byJohn Deere Financial of Johnston, Iowa. James graduatedfrom Forest City High School (2007), and the Universityof Northern Iowa. James is employed by Earlham Com-munity Schools of Earlham, Iowa.

The couple will reside in Waukee, Iowa.

Ryan joined Cub ScoutPack 4401 as a first-grad-

er in 2001. He thencrossed over to Boy Scoutsin 2007 and has beenactive in scouting since.He attended High Adven-tures at Philmont, N.M.,Boundary Waters and wasthe Globe Gazette home-town correspondent dur-ing the 2010 NationalJamboree in Virginia, cele-brating 100 years ofscouting.

Ryan has earned 27merit badges whichinclude the 21 that arerequired to obtain the rankof Eagle Scout.

Ryan’s service projectinvolved planning, fundraising and installing anengraved brick patio atStebens Children’s The-atre. Money raised con-tributed to the scholarshipfund at Stebens.

Ryan became an EagleScout at his Board ofReview on Feb. 12, 2013.The rank of Eagle Scouthas been earned by morethan two million youngmen in the past 100 years.The title of Eagle Scout isheld for life, thus givingrise to the phrase, “Oncean Eagle, always an Eagle.”

Ryan is a senior at New-man Catholic High Schooland is the son of Tim andDenise Schupick of MasonCity.

IIOOWWAA CCIITTYY — TheUniversity of IowaDepartment of Chemistryawarded Sean Staudt, ofDougherty, the Russell K.Simms Scholarship for2013. The award is inrecognition of his out-standing research andacademic record in chem-istry. Sean was honored

during the ChemistryAppreciation Nightawards ceremony on May16, at the Iowa MemorialUnion. He graduated fromthe University of Iowa onMay 18, with a Bachelor ofScience degree in Analyti-cal Chemistry.

He begins his Ph.D pro-gram at the University ofWisconsin in August. Seanis the son of Paul and JeanStaudt, of Dougherty.

made high adventure tripsto Philmont, N.M., and theBoundary Waters, andattended the NationalJamboree in 2010, com-memorating 100 years ofscouting.
