CELEBRATION OF 62ND REPUBLIC DAY, UDALGURI

The 62nd Republic Day celebration is on today the 26th January’ 2011 at the Parade

Ground of DC’s Office, Udalguri like the other parts of India in a brief ting manner.

Hon’ble Minister, PHE, Assam Shri Rihon Daimari is the Chief Guest of the function,

At the very outset Shri Rihon Daimari offered floral tribute to the Father of the

Nation “Mahatma Gandhi” at Gandhi Smriti and then he proceeded to the main dais

and inspect the guard of honour and at 9.00 AM he hosted the Tricolor in presence

of the Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri Shri Thaneswar Malakar, Superintendent of

Police Shri Debojit Deuri, Deputy Commandant SSB, Commanding officer 315 Field

Regiment (Kargil), Sr. citizen of the district along with other distinguished guest

and students. Around 4000 people participated in the programme of Republic Day.

23rd SSB, DEF, Udalguri, Assam Home Guard, various Scouts & Guides from

different school participated in the March-Past. Various departments of the district

like Agriculture, Sericulture, Fishery., A.H.&Vety., Udalguri Dev. Block, Health

Dept., DRDA etc. participated in a manner of tabloo to show their activities.

Agriculture Dept. hold the first position, where as A.H.&Vety Dept and Udalguri

development Block holds the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In the celebration District Level award for Excellence in Public Service, Public

Security, Child Scientist and Agriculture was awarded to Shri Bhakta Chetry,

Principal, Ramswaroop Agarwalla Memorial School, Udalguri, Shri Pratap Singh

Thakur, Dy. Commandant of 23rd Bn. SSB, Bhairabkunda, Shri Upamanyoo Das

of Kalaigaon and Shri Baneswar Boro of Vill. Gormarah respectively.

A Poetry collection named “Roudra Kamana” was formally inaugurated by the

Hon’ble Minister, published by the District Administration, Udalguri.

In view of the celebration of the Republic Day an exhibition was displayed by 315

Field Regiment (Kargil) to display the arms and ammunitions and Students from

various school displayed their science models.
