et us continue to pray for all persons affected by this down-sizing economy and that those
who have lost their jobs may find work soon.
Thanks to all of you for joining us for Catholic Schools Week. The week began with the 5k run on Sunday, January 29th, which was another great success. The events of the week including our Mass, Grandparents’ Day, the Rosary, and all the student activities were a great success. Your presence always assures us of your support for our school.
We have begun our “Milk Jug” challenge for our Capital Campaign. Each homeroom has a milk jug to put their loose change in for the challenge. Please join us in whatever way you can to help us reach our goal.
The Capital Campaign total at this time is $1,003,199.83. Thanks for your generosity!
Sincerely!

Great things are happening at Mount Carmel!
I am very pleased to inform you that we have completed
the first steps in attaining AdvancED accreditation. Thank
you to all of you who participated in the stakeholder
surveys. We submitted the Readiness Self-Assessment, a
representative from the Louisiana AdvancED will consider
a Readiness visit in the next few months. Mount Carmel
will host the External Review in the Spring of 2018.
We are also in the process of purchasing a new reading
series for next school year – World of Wonders for pre-kin-
dergarten and Open Court for grades kindergarten through
fifth. Professional development for the new reading series will
occur prior to the end of this school year, thus allowing a
smooth transition for teachers and students.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Mount
Carmel. I pray that the remainder of our school year con-
tinues to be blessed and successful.
Kindest regards!
