News from the Board

By Ken Walsh, CPTC Vice President

We are in the process of finalizing the budgets for the coming year. This process made me think of an old PBS-TV series called “The Frugal Gourmet”. The theme was how to cook up something without spending a lot of money and still wind up with something decent in the end.

As residents, we can all contribute to the financial health of our HOA in several ways. Certainly we all need to pay our dues promptly. I know some of our neighbors pay the annual amount in one payment, some pay monthly, which is the minimum expectation, and some pay in two or three month increments. Unfortunately, some people pay when they “get around to it”, and for some of those, it’s been a rather long time since they got around to it. This is not fair to those who pay conscientiously (thankfully that is most of us), and it leads to more costs all around for the collection efforts, with an accumulation of missed payments and late fees that may only get resolved through placing a lien on the property.

Other costs that we have experienced in the past were the results of vandalism in the pool area, which does seem to have decreased, but please be sure that you and your family are respectful of the community property, because it is truly “ours.”

Do your part for Cedar Park’s water source, Lake Travis, part of the Colorado River.Remember last year’s low lake levels? The water we swim in, use on our lawns, and drink all comes from the same place. Let’s help make our water supply last.

Halloween partyBy LeighAnne Fulcher

The Halloween Party on October 31 was such a treat for the kids. We had a haunted fishing booth, bean toss, coloring, face painting, guessing game, photos, and Little Caesar’s pizza. All the kids were dressed in their costumes looking for fun and candy. We really had a great time! CEDAR PARK TOWN CENTER

Community Garage SaleBy LeighAnne Fulcher

The community garage sale was a success. We had numerous vendors and customers in attendance. The recreation committee will sponsor another garage sale in the spring of 2011 and we look forward to seeing you then.

News from the WebsiteBy Ken Walsh, CPTC Web Administrator

Last month I wrote about how to get a login for the community website, and included the following comments pertinent to those who rent or lease homes in Cedar Park Town Center:

NOTE: If you are a renter/tenant, you must go through your landlord or management company to get written permission to use the owners account.

If you are a non-resident owner, please support your tenant’s request for access. It is in everybody’s interest to have tenants feel involved in the community that they live in.

Since then, we have developed the ability to grant read access to those renter/tenants who are unable to utilize the owner’s account. If you are in that category, please contact me at [email protected] to set up this type of access.
