Mucosa (mu) of the cecum lacks villi but has long simple tubular intestinal

glands with many goblet cells.

The submucosa has large lymphatic nodules (n) A tunica muscularis (m) of smooth muscle follows the typical histologic

pattern of intestinal tract.
