Extended Academic Options in Salamanca • The Hispanic Studies Program is now offered as three independent trimesters. Summer Program in Rome in High Demand • Due to the popularity of our semester programs in Rome, we have expanded our offerings for the summer. With multiple sessions to choose from and a wide variety of course offerings, you are sure to find the program to fit your schedule and academic needs. New Equipment To better serve our students and help them stay connected while abroad, we have added student-use computers in our offices in the following cities: • Paris, France • San José, Costa Rica New Offices To make room for additional staff and services, our Paris Office has moved. In order to maintain this high level of service for our ever growing number of students, we have specialized the roles of some of our current onsite staff and added a few new faces. In some locations, we have established specialized roles for academics, student services, and housing to better serve the needs of our students. Elizabeth Escalante, our San José Onsite Director, and Grayson Splane, our Florence Onsite Director, have both been appointed as CEA Regional Directors. As the new Director of Latin American Operations and Director of Italy Operations respectively, these dedicated women will focus on not only improving our existing programs in their home cities, but also overseeing and expanding programs in their entire region. Anna Felberbaum is our new Rome Onsite Director. Having lived in both the U.S. and England, Anna now calls Italy her home and is a graduate of John Cabot University, our partner school in Rome. Anna is a great addi- tion to the CEA family. Brigitt Relli is our Florence Student Services Coor- dinator. Brigitt has spent several years in the travel and study abroad industries. Brigitt's responsibilities as part of the Florence staff include not only planning excursions, but also coordinating social and immersion activities. Ossian Claudel is our new Paris Housing Coor- dinator. Ossian is a native Parisian and has lived and stud- ied in Canada, Belgium, and Vietnam. Ossian is dedicated to managing CEA's housing inventory in Paris and making sure students are comfortable in their new surroundings. Laura Salvadó is our new Barcelona Housing Coor- dinator. She is originally from a small town located in the province of Tarragona, in the southern part of Catalonia. Laura has several years of experience working with inter- national students, and we are excited to have her as part of the team in Barcelona. CEA Students in Costa Rica Now Have More Flexibility There is no comparing the hous-ing options CEA has to offer,and now there are even more tochoose from in San José, CostaRica and Salamanca, Spain.

San José

Choose to live with a Costa Rican family, in an apartmentwith other CEA participants, orin CEA’s newest option, a CasaUniversitaria. The Casa Univers-itaria in San Jose allows studentsto experience the independenceof apartment living, whileenjoying the benefits of a home-stay, including prepared meals.

Students living in apartments inSan José now have a meal planwith options. Students are pro-vided 20 meal tickets permonth, valid at 3 differentrestaurants near school andhome. Students not only get to choose where they eat, but order what they want. One

ticket is good for a full menupurchase (salad, main course,desert, and beverage). Buenaprovecho!

Salamanca

Students have always been ableto live with a Spanish family inSalamanca, or choose to live inthe Residence Hall during the summer. However, studentsnow have more choices. You can still live in a Homestay or a Residence Hall (which is now available year-round), but you can also choose to live in aCasa Universitaria. Living in a Casa Universitaria providesyou with the benefits of livingwith a family, such as laundryand meals, while sharing a flatwith CEA and other interna-tional students. The variety ofhousing options available setsCEA apart from the rest.

CEA has developed a new program structure in Costa Rica so our students can focus their studies on their major and have greaterflexibility with course selections.

The programs are offered during the three trimester sessions eachyear (Fall, Winter, and Spring) and students can choose to attendone, two, or all three of these sessions to tailor the program to fittheir needs.

Students take four classes and can earn up to 15 credits per ses-sion, depending on their course selection.

Each session, the Programs are broken down into the following structure:

• One Spanish language course appropriate to language level.

• One required elective in the related field of their Program

• Two additional electives in the related field or additionalSpanish language courses.

Study abroad at the AmericanUniversity of Paris (AUP) thissummer. CEA is offering twonew 4-week sessions, one inJune and one in July, where youcan choose to take 1 or 2 courses. You have the freedomto choose from the entire AUP course catalog, from varied disciplines including:Art, Art History, Business,Communications, Economics,European Cultural Studies,Film Studies, French, History,International Affairs & Politics,

Mathematics, Philosophy, Psy-chology and Science. All courses are taught in Englishexcept for courses taken withinthe French department. Mostcourses are worth 3 credits, butthere are a few 4 credit courses.You will have access to all services at the AUP, includinglibraries and computer serv-ices, as well as all the servicesoffered by CEA. This programreplaces CEA's current summerprogram at AUP.
