CDMA450 – Sky Link in Russia
Russian Telecommunications Ministry designated CDMA450 as a Russian Federal Standard (IMT-IMC-450) in 2002.
SL was established in June 2003 to consolidate the 60 regional NMT-450 operators and to create a Pan-Russian CDMA450 operator.
SL launched CDMA450 service in St. Petersburg in December 2002 and in Moscow in November 2003.
SL launched EV-DO rel 0 service in St. Petersburg and Moscow in December 2005 and launch EV-DO rev A in May 2008
SL launched first dual band phone CDMA 450/GSM (Ubiquam 520) in March 2007
SL NetworkCDMA450 networks are deployed in more than 32 regions of Russia. Gradually SkyLink will deploy networks to cover 65 regions with a population of 104 million (72 % of the total Russian population).
