HIGHLIGHTS OF RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Over 7 years of experience in managing the start-up and ongoing research activities of several large, multi-site public health research projects, including two blood donor safety studies funded by NHLBI (REDS: Retrovirus Epidemiology Donor Study, RADAR: REDS Allogeneic Donor and Recipient Repository), and the HYSQ Evaluation (Helping Young Smokers Quit, an evaluation of existing smoking cessation interventions for adolescents, funded by NCI/CDC/RWJF). Responsibilities varied, and included:
Research Study Operations & Management
Developed study manuals, SOP’s, data tracking forms, field staff memos and other study materials for both in-house and study site staff
Established rapport site managers and staff and maintained extensive communications to ensure timely delivery of monthly data from all sites
Managed document printing and coordinated timely shipment and distribution of all study supplies to sites
Provided guidance and expertise to site staff to ensure standardized protocols were properly implemented
Communicated site study issues, concerns and study site status updates to supervisor
Created biological sample shipment schedules in collaboration with multiple sites and the central storage biorepository, in accordance with dangerous goods shipping guidelines
Coordinated with multi-disciplinary staff including investigators, site managers, field staff, administrative staff to ensure on-time delivery of all project deliverables
Maintained study site and contact data via in-house tracking system database
Data Management & Integrity
Managed mixed-method data collection of state, county, and local tobacco ordinance data for 75+ jurisdictions nationwide
Performed in-house review of monthly source documentation for errors prior to coding and data entry
Worked with site managers and staff to provide data query resolutions
Performed data entry as necessary
Coded data and resolved codebook discrepancies with senior staff
Wrote, reviewed, and tested CAPI and CATI programming specifications
Research Study Coordination
Established and maintained effective working relationships with schools, public health officials, community representatives and program facilitators to recruit and gain consent from participants and coordinate site visits

Reporting and Research Communications
Prepared annual evaluation reports and made recommendations to for funding children’s after-school services
As part of a multidisciplinary group of researchers, coordinated and contributed to organizational response to the initial RFP for the evaluation of the 1-800-QUIT-NOW National Quitline Initiative, an NCI/CDC funded evaluation of the efficacy of the National Smoking Quitline
