COMBINED TEST RING 3 — 2:00pm 114 Combined Test for Minis & Handlers
Judge: Ange Bean
We are excited to offer a new division at our show — Combined Test for Mini horses and their handlers. This is open to all miniature horses or ponies under 38” in height with their handlers of any age. They will be shown in hand in a halter or bridle. Ribbons will be awarded based on overall lowest dressage score and jump penalties. Cost is $40 per Mini/Handler pair. The following are the rules for Handler Attire: Shirt: Sleeved, collared shirt (polo shirt, dress shirt, ratcatcher), tucked in. Jackets and gloves are optional. Helmet is not required. Pants: Long pants (riding pants or other styles), mid-length or longer shorts made of khaki, chino, or denim with no rips or tears. Belt: Required if pants have belt loops. Shoes: Footwear that covers the ankle, is entirely closed, thick soled, and of sturdy construction (paddock boots, rubber riding boots, rain boots, western boots). Dressage Test: USDF Intro A Jumping Test: Course of 6-8 jumps consisting of cross rails and verticals no higher than 12”. Rules will be based on the current USEA Eventing Rulebook. The division will start at 2pm for dressage tests and then immediately follow with show jumping. Ribbons up to 6th place will be given.

RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Pre-entries CLOSE SUNDAY AUGUST 9th for Dressage and for Combined Test for Minis and FRIDAY AUGUST 14th at noon for other classes. Pre-entries will be accepted by traditional mail with the attached form or by e-mail to [email protected].
2. HUNTERS: Entry fee is $20.00 per class. Derby class is $40. Must have six entries to pay prize money. DRESSAGE: Entry fee is $40 per class. COMBINED TEST: Entry fee is $40.
3. Junior riders shall not have reached their 18th birthday prior to December 1 of the previous year.
4. ASTM/SEI helmets are required for all competitors at all times while mounted.
5. A fee of $10.00 will be charged for each junior rider who wishes to be eligible for the Best Child Rider Award.
6. Chester County Horse Show Association points apply to divisions where indicated.
7. The Show Committee reserves the right to change the order of classes and make cancellations if so warranted.
8. Dogs will not be permitted on the show grounds unless restrained on a lead.
9. The Pickering Pony Show will not be responsible for loss or damage to any person, property, or equipment, which may occur before, during or after the show.
10. Six ribbons will be awarded in each class.
11. A negative coggins test taken within the 12 month period prior to the show date must be available upon request.
12. Full refunds given before closing date by contacting the organizer. After the closing date, no refunds given. If show is cancelled, entries will be fully refunded/checks shredded.
13. Entries must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by the closing date. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the show organizer. A $10.00 late fee will be added if necessary and payable before the rider may compete. Incomplete entries may be placed on a waiting list.
14. Times will be emailed if email address is provided on the entry form. If no web/email access, please provide a current phone number on entry form.
15. Martingales prohibited in under saddle classes.
16. Show management has the right to dismiss any horse or rider deemed unsafe.
17. The decision of the judges and/or show managers shall be final.
18. Sand arena measures 20x40 for all USDF & USEA tests, 20x60 sand arena for all others. Warm-up will be held in the flat grass warm-up area & in ring. No lungeing in warm-up area please.
19. Exhibitors must scratch at the secretary’s stand.

20. Attire: Neat, clean & workmanlike. Tack & equipment as for recognized competition. Boots on your horse are OK for warm-up area but they must be removed prior to entering the show ring. All other USEF rules apply.
21. All CDC guidelines and state/local laws will be followed.
22. Face masks will be required for everyone EXCEPT for riders when mounted.
23. Social distancing will be required.
24. Participants are limited to rider + 1 trainer and 1 groom per entry only. No spectators will be allowed on the grounds.
25. Monitor your temperature and well being. If you do not feel well, stay home.
26. Ribbons will be set on table outside the secretary area for pickup.
27. Competitor numbers will be available or you can make your own. Please do a ride by and check in with management either way.
28. OTHER INFO: Water will be provided. We will not be selling food. Please be courteous to all volunteers, officials and fellow competitors. Please follow safe practices while in the warm-up ring. Parking will be on grass. Please bring a muck tub for cleanup around your trailer and take manure home. Port-a-pot will be provided for competitor use.

Open to all riders on horses or ponies. (Must show in one other division to be eligible to enter
this class.) Riders will compete over a course which will include fences in the ring as well as
outside of the ring and will be judged on brilliance of pace and handiness which should
simulate riding over hunt country and will incorporate options such as tight turns, clever
options for jump approaches, high option fence(s), hand galloping, and trotting a fence. Jumps
outside of the ring be natural hunting tupe fences and will not be open for schooling. Jump
height will be 2’6” with some options up to 3’. Top riders may be called back for another
jumping test which may include more of a handy type course. Proper hunt attire
recommended. Cash prizes and neck sashes up to 8th place. 1st $300, 2nd $225, 3rd $160,
4th $120, 5th $80, 6th $55, 7th $35, 8th $25. Minimum of 8 riders to hold the class.
