1. CCH OneClick Activation
To enable you to use both the Messages & Documents and the Digital Data Request App functionality within CCH OneClick, you will need to have an activated CCH OneClick account
If you haven’t already activated your workspace, you should have received an activation email sent by your accountant from [email protected]
Click the link in the email and enter your activation ID (Your practice will have informed you of this, or you will have received a text message when your account was activated)
Create a new password
Select 2 security questions
Log into the client workspace using your email address and new password Your workspace will show the Messages & Documents and/or the Digital Data Request App tiles depending on the access given to you by your practice
1.1 Edit your profile
Once activated, within your client workspace you can add an optional photo to your profile by selecting Edit Profile and browsing for an image to upload
This picture will be visible to your practice

2. Messages & Documents
Messages & Documents is the functionality within CCH OneClick that allows you to exchange messages, files and information online (previously known as Client Portal)
It is accessed through your client workspace within CCH OneClick
From the home page you can see a summary of each account you have access to
If you are an associated contact of multiple businesses you will be able to see them all here

2.1 Messages
The Messages tile will take you to the conversations for that account
There is also an indicator here of how many messages you have and how many are unread
You will be sent an email notification when you receive a new message
Select the + button to create and send a new message
The To, Subject and Message fields are mandatory and must be completed before the message can be sent
Select the ‘Add Files’ button or use the drag and drop facility to upload documents to the message
Please note:- The Drag and drop area is not available when using a mobile device

The exclamation mark signals that there is a document within this conversation needing your approval
Select here which option you’d like to choose
If approving the document, enter your CCH OneClick password
You may have to view the document first before it can be approved

Use the home button to return to your list of available accounts
2.2 Documents
The documents tile will take you to all the documents available for that particular account
Select the new folder to view all the latest documents that have been received and not yet reviewed
Documents will be split out into folders (as specified by your accountant)

Any documents needing your approval will be shown here
Tick the checkbox and select Approve or Reject
You will need to enter your password to confirm your decision
Click here to return to your CCH OneClick Workspace

3. Digital Data Request App
Digital Data Request is a phone based application which will present you with a list of income sources from your accountant for which you need to provide data, along with any supporting documentation required
To access more information on Digital Data Request, select the Digital Data Request tile from your CCH OneClick dashboard
From here you will be taken to a landing page where you can download the app from the Google Play Store. The app will be available on IOS from the Apple App Store in a future release
3.1 Log into the app
Enter the domain, email address and password for your CCH OneClick account New to the Digital Data Request App? Please contact your system administrator for your login details Selecting ‘Remember Me’ only remembers the domain and email address. You will have to enter your password each time you login

3.2 Application home
The home screen lists all items requiring action with two ticks next to them
The ticks indicate progress. If both of the ticks are grey, it indicates that no action has been taken for that item. Once you submit information for a section, the first tick goes green. The second tick will go green once your practice has approved your submission
Your practice may request additional information from you before they accept a section
Select a section name to view that source of income
3.3 Information sections and subsections
Each section can contain several subsections. Each sub-section has to be filled in separately and saved
3.4 Filling in a section
When you open a section you can review the data which is displayed
Some of the information may be pre-filled by HMRC and cannot be changed. If this is the case, a blue crown is displayed next to the information and the field is locked
You can add documents and scans into the information using the Scan and Attach File functions
Select the Save icon to send the information to your practice
If the Save button or the field is grey, it means the information cannot be changed as it has been digitally received from HMRC

3.5 HMRC Pre-filled information
If the fields include a blue crown icon, it indicates that the information has been received from your HMRC Digital Tax account and it cannot be changed
3.6 Scan feature
The Scan feature allows you to quickly attach a digital copy of a document to this section
The attachment will be sent to the practice automatically once the section is saved
Select Scan
Take a photo of the document you want to scan
Once the capturing is complete, the application takes you back to the information section with new Show Attachments button
Select Show Attachments
Review that your attachment is included

3.7 Attach File feature
The attach file feature allows you to quickly attach documents to this section. Documents can be retrieved from popular cloud-based services such as OneDrive or DropBox
The attachment will be sent to the practice automatically once the section is saved
Select Attach File
The File Browser opens allowing you to select recent files
Select the menu icon to reveal Open from functionality to browse files from popular cloud drives such as Grive, OneDrive and DropBox
Select the file you want to attach using any method available
The application takes you back to the information section with new Show Attachments button
Select Show Attachments
Review that your attachment is included
3.8 Comments feature
The comments feature allows you to quickly send a message or comment about this particular section to the practice. The section has to be saved before comments can be made
Select Add below the Latest comments box
The conversations view opens
Type in a comment
Select the send button (paper plane icon)
3.9 Add information feature
If you have additional income or information that you need to include on your tax return, this feature allows you to do that
On this view you can then include additional information that you want to include in your Tax Return
Go to the home screen
Select Add information at the bottom of the screen
Any other information view opens
Select the Title field
Enter Title
Select the Details field
Enter additional information
Select Save

The application menu is available through the menu icon
