2 CCH INTERACTIVE CHECKLIST - CHECKLIST UPDATE VERSION 6.2 - JULY 2016

Introduction

This update includes the latest versions of the following checklists:

FRS 102 (Companies and LLPs) checklist which covers the disclosure requirements of companies and LLPs preparing accounts under FRS 102. The checklist addresses the FRS 102 reduced disclosure framework available to qualifying entities, but assumes all the exemptions will be applied, though the standard permits selection. It is mandatory for qualifying entities for accounting periods commencing on or after 1 January 2015, although early application is permitted for accounting periods ending on or after 31 December 2012;

FRS 102 (section 1A Small Companies) checklist, which covers the reduced disclosure requirements of FRS 102 available for small companies whether audited or not. (Small LLPs are now permitted to apply FRS 102 section 1A – see Stop Press for further details. However, these changes have not yet been addressed in this checklist.) It is mandatory for accounting periods commencing on or after 1 January 2016, although early application is permitted for accounting periods commencing on or after 1 January 2015 provided that the Companies, Partnerships and Groups (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2015 are applied from the same date;

FRS 102 (Charities) checklist, which covers the disclosure requirements for all charities (companies, trusts, CIO, etc.) whether registered in England and Wales or Scotland, and whether the accounts are audited, independently examined or exempt. It is mandatory for accounting periods commencing on or after 1 January 2015;

FRS 105 Micro Entity checklist, covering both companies and LLPs, which is applicable for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2016, though early application is permitted. Qualifying LLPs can prepare micro-entity accounts from 1 January 2015 if the members so agree;

IFRS (EU in the UK) checklist which includes relevant UK Companies Act requirements and those IFRS/IAS standards which have been adopted by the EU; it also includes the FRS 101 Reduced Disclosure Framework requirements. (The checklist assumes that a company applying IFRS or FRS 101 will not take advantage of any reporting exemptions available to small companies and will not take advantage of audit exemption.) It is applicable for accounting periods commencing on or after 1 July 2010; and

Listed Companies (FTSE, AIM and ICAP only) checklist which covers the additional disclosure requirements of quoted, AIM and ICAP ISDX Growth market companies, or those other companies that wish to voluntarily comply with these additional requirements. It should be used in addition to the FRS 102 (Companies and LLPs) checklist (ICAP ISDX or voluntary companies only) or the IFRS (EU in the UK) checklist.

Old UK GAAP

Old UK GAAP/Charities checklist, which covers both companies/LLPs and charities registered in either England & Wales or Scotland. It is applicable for accounting periods commencing before 1 January 2015 and with no early adoption of FRS 102, unless it is a small entity preparing accounts under FRSSE (2015) for an accounting period commencing before 1 January 2016, for example, a small LLP preparing accounts under FRSSE (2015) and the LLP SORP (2014);

CCH INTERACTIVE CHECKLIST - CHECKLIST UPDATE VERSION 6.2 –JULY 2016 3

FRSSE Micro Company checklist which is only suitable for a company which qualifies as a micro-entity under the Small Companies (Micro-Entities’ Accounts) Regulations 2013 (SI 2013/3008) and which makes full use of the reduced disclosure requirements available to a micro-entity. It is applicable for accounting periods ending on or after 30 September 2013 and accounting periods beginning before 1 January 2016;

Please refer to the What’s Changed document for details of the changes from version 6.2 of the checklists.

Note: This update also includes an the update to version 1.2 of the CCH Interactive Checklist Software. If you have not previously applied this update you must apply this update to all computers on which ICADC is installed. However, the final step, Updating the Checklist Database, need only be run once on each database that you use to store checklists.
