Connection Charity have raised over $200,000 for health care in Canmore

and area!

2006


CCC 2006 raised $23,000 for Cardiac Care…

The Cardiac equipment purchased has assisted the Canmore Hospital in attracting 4 cardiologists so that we now have weekly Cardiac Clinics. The equipment was necessary to attract the cardiologists!


2007 & 2008


CCC 2007 & 2008 funds raised were used for the Cancer Clinic expansion…

The Canmore Connection Charity donated over $60,000 towards the Cancer Clinic expansion. This was one of the largest donations towards the expansion!

CCC 2009 funds raised purchased equipment for the ER…


Did you know…

CCC Funds were used to purchase a Propaq Monitor for the ER. This monitor is used to constantly monitor ER patients’ vital signs.

The Foundation was also able to purchase an anaesthetic machine in 2009 for the Operating Room. This allows for a safe surgical experience, and provides breathing support and monitoring of the patient during surgery.


Did you know…

An ultrasound was purchased in 2010 for the Emergency Room. This equipment is becoming the standard of care for emergency rooms in Canada.

It provides for fast access for intravenous therapy in life threatening situations, and aids in the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal symptoms.

CCC 2010 funds raised were the final amount needed to purchase $300,000 worth of Endoscopy Equipment which is used for the early

detection and treatment of diseases such as cancer…


Did you know…

Colon Cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer, if caught early enough.

Screening colonoscopies (after age 50 and every 10 years after that, with removal of polyps as detected) reduce an individual’s risk of colon cancer by 95%


Did you know…

The Canmore Hospital performs 1,800 scopes each year…this translates to thousands of people who will be positively impacted by the 2010 CCC tournament for years to come!

CCC 2011 funds raised will be used for the Emergency Room at Canmore Hospital…

There were over 18,000 visits to the Emergency Room in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 the number of visits has increased over previous years.

Did you know…

The Canmore Hospital has admitting privileges for 93 doctors! This is significantly higher than most other rural hospitals in Alberta, and is a key attraction for people moving to Canmore.

These doctors have specialties in general surgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, radiology, anesthesia, psychiatry, pediatrics, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology and gynecology.

The hospital has 21 acute care beds, 2 Special Care Unit beds, 2 Labor and Delivery Rooms and 23 Long Term Care beds.

There is the capacity for an additional 23 bed unit that is currently occupied by offices in an area is structurally configured as an acute care unit.


Did you know…

The Bow Corridor Service Area has 56 separate programs, which includes:• community care, • home care nursing, • well baby services, • school health, • population health, • diagnostics (including CT Scanning), • therapeutics, • rehabilitation and support services.

Canmore Connection Charity Golf Tournament is one of the only events in Canmore where non-residents, weekenders, and visitors support the local needs of the community…thank you!!
