Participation in Activities Organised by External Organisations

Primary objective is to recognise pupils’ contribution to the community. Points will not be awarded if participation……

is merely for social interaction; is based on mere attendance or is for personal self-enrichment (e.g. piano lessons)

Page 16: CCA GRADING SCHEME LEAPS

Points can only be awarded under the Achievement category and also ……

• Students must have a core CCA in school i.e. the outside activities cannot replace your CCA• Points will not be awarded if pupils choose to participate in activities offered by external organisations but refuse to participate in the same activity offered by the school

• Recognition will only be given for activities organised by external organisations from MOE’s approved list

Page 17: CCA GRADING SCHEME LEAPS

Computation of CCA Points

• Continuous participation i.e. sustained throughout the 4 or 5 years in school

• CCA points accumulated up to that year will be null & void when a pupil withdraws from the CCA or the pupil’s attendance rate is less than 50% for that year. CCA points will only resume when the pupil rejoins a CCA & fulfills the 75% attendance rate.

Page 18: CCA GRADING SCHEME LEAPS

• For attendance rate between 50% - 74%, the CCA points scored for the year will not be computed. However, points accumulated in earlier years can be retained for computation when the pupil rejoins a CCA &/or fulfills the 75% attendance rate.

• A pupil who repeats will have to participate in an additional year of CCA & the scoring table for the 5-year course will be used for computation of CCA points into grades.
