Future Innovators Programme (FIP)• Future Innovators Programme (FIP) is the 2nd tier of Cedar Primary
School’s Applied Learning Programme (CIT). It is a CCA wherestudents who have the entrepreneurial spirit gather together tocome up with new ideas, make positive improvements to thecommunity and seek opportunities to appreciate aesthetics.
• We invite students to join FIP yearly to develop potentialindividuals who have the positive aptitude and attitude to take onchallenges in school, community or even the world. Students willbe taught how to question like How does this work? What can I dodifferently? before facilitated to generate tangible values-basedsolutions.
• FIP students will be given opportunities to practise 21st centurycompetencies in communication via various platforms such asCedar Primary School’s annual Creativity Fest where they facilitatetinkering projects for the lower primary students. Students will alsolearn soft skills like teamwork and perseverance throughparticipation in our June Holiday camp and competitions such asThe Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition, FutureProblem Solving Programme and Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’Award.

Robotics Club• Robots play an important role in our daily lives. Have
you ever wondered how robots are created? Have youever wondered how robots are being programmed?
• In Robotics Club, we aim to develop creative andinventive Cedarians with critical thinking minds.Robotics is more than just playing with Lego bricks.Working in teams, students will be learning how toconstruct, programme and troubleshoot their robots todo a particular task or solve real life challenges usingEV3 Mindstorms Lego sets.
• Students will also have the opportunities to take part inthe various national and international Roboticscompetitions.

*Extra sessions will be scheduled during competition seasons.
*Competitions are normally held during school holidays.
Infocomm Club
• Interested in Photography? Video Editing?Website design? Coding? Computer games? IPadsand Laptops? Then Infocomm is the club for you.
• In this CCA, students will learn how to takephotos, create a video, design a web page andother computer softwares. There will also belessons on coding using the software Scratchwhere students can design and create their ownanimations and games.

• Club sessions: Mondays, 3.30 pm to 5 pm atComputer Lab 1
Sports Club• The Sports Club exposes students to various team
sports such as touch rugby, ultimate frisbee andtchoukball. These sports are not offered in theother sports CCAs and not taught within the PEsyllabus.
• The main objective is to get students to enjoyand learn new sports at a non-competitive level.It is about developing their interest in teamsportsand learn the values of Fairplay, Sportsmanship,and Resilience.
• In the Sports Club, students will learn how towork with their teammates, and at the sametime, learning at their own pace.
• Our training days will be held on Fridays, from1.30pm to 3.00pm. More details will be giventhrough the CCA Consent Form.
Adventure Club • Love Adventure and The Outdoors!
• We have various activities that aim to expose students to Outdoor Learning, Sports Climbing and Sports Orienteering.
• Sports Climbing is easy to pick up. It trains students to focus and build their confidence as they ascend the wall. This sport is very rewarding for anyone and everyone who tries it.
• Orienteers learn to be self-reliant. Students will get to hone their skills in navigating while problem-solving to locate each control. Decision-making is a key component for orienteering. That is why it is called the thinking sport.

• The Athletics CCA provides opportunities forstudents to acquire knowledge and movementskills in relation to track and field through aseries of running, jumping and throwing events(individual and team). It is a platform for studentsto improve their health, fitness and character.
• With purposefully planned trainings andparticipation in the National School Games, weaim to develop students to become individualswho display:
• Kindness in caring for self and others;
• Integrity in upholding the spirit of fair play;
• Resilience in overcoming challenges physicallyand mentally;
• Responsibility in giving their best in everythingthey do;
• Creativity in crafting strategies to improve theirperformance.

Football• Football CCA provides students with
opportunities to develop their individual football skills as well as hone their game awareness through football drills and small-sided games.
• Through this, students will learn to be a skillful player and work cohesively towards a common goal, fostering team camaraderie.
• In all, Football CCA provides the platform for all its students to improve their health, fitness and character.

Softball• Softball is a bat-and-ball sport played by 2 teams
of 9 players each. It is a team sport and everyplayer plays an important role in a softball match.A game of softball involves 9 batters taking turnsto play against the other team comprising ofpitcher, catcher, 3 basemen, a shortstop and 3outfielders.
• Students who joined Softball will learn the basicskills of catching, throwing and hitting the ball.They will also be able to cultivate values such asresilience, integrity and responsibility. Selectedstudents will be able to take part in the NationalSchool Games Softball Juniors and Seniorscompetition
• Our training days will be held on Mondays andThursdays, from 3.45pm to 5.15pm. More detailswill be given through the CCA Consent Form.
Art Club• Keen to express yourself creatively through the Arts?
The Art Club is a CCA where students with a sharedinterest in visual arts gather to create art. Students willbe exposed to various art forms such as drawing,painting, batik, new media, 3D pen and many more.
• Art Club CCA aims to develop students in the followingways:
• To foster the love and appreciation of visual art
• To develop creativity and self-expression
• To provide opportunities to contribute to theschool and community.
• Students can choose to be in the interest group (forstudents who enjoy doing art) or the talent group (forstudents who prefer to work on their technical skills).
• Sessions are held on Tuesdays, 3.30pm to 5.30 pm, inArt Rooms 1 and 2.

Brass Band• Is your child passionate about music? Does your child
want to learn how to play an instrument? If yes, join band today!
• The Band has previously achieved a ‘Certificate ofDistinction’ (only 2 schools were awarded) for both thePercussion and Brass Ensembles in SYF ArtsPresentation 2018.
• This is how your child’s band experience will look like:• Learning to play Brass and Percussion instruments, and applying
music theory and music note-reading (suitable for beginnerswith no prior musical experience)
• Opportunities for leadership as Band Leader, sectional leadersand band librarians
• Representing the school for the Singapore Youth Festival ArtsPresentation and external competitions like SingaporeInternational Band Festival
• External performances at shopping malls, and internalperformances for school events; Going for external band campsto make music with fellow musicians from other schools
• Direct-School Admission (DSA) opportunities to secondaryschools
Sessions are held on Tuesdays, from 3.30 to 5.30pm and Fridays, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Ethnic Ensemble• The Ethnic Ensemble gives an opportunity for
students to immerse themselves in music making with friends.
• In this CCA, students will get the chance to learn and perform on specially customized Angklung, Kulintangand Gamelan instruments. Even students with no musical background will be given individual guidance and coaching to learn and develop their musical sensitivity and find their own expressive voice and identity.
• There will also be plenty of opportunities for students to perform during school events and to represent the school in the SYF competition!
• Sessions are held on Mondays, from 3.30pm to 5pm, in the Band Room.
International Dance• If you love expressing yourself through music and movement,
then Cedar Primary School’s Dance CCA is the one for you.Besides learning slick dance moves to inspiring pieces of music,you get a good workout as well.
• The International Dance Club has evolved through the years.Other than performing for school events, the Dance Club hadbrought pride to the school by performing for variousorganisations and clinching awards in the Singapore Youth FestivalCentral Judging from 2012 to 2018.
• Students will be given the opportunity to discover and exploremodern and cultural contemporary dance forms, developingthem to be versatile dancers. We have a family of multiracialdancers and that provides them an opportunity to developcultural awareness. Through dance, students will learn to be moreresilient and disciplined, alongside other school values that areregularly reiterated by our team of dedicated teachers. TheInternational Dance CCA also builds lasting friendships betweenthe dancers and teachers.
• With the exposure to various performances and competitions, wehope to instill in each dancer the qualities that would mould theminto outstanding students in both their academic and non-academic pursuits.

Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade• The Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade are worldwide youth
organisations aimed at shaping generations of young boysand girls into well-rounded individuals with exemplarycharacter and leadership.
• Through weekly fun-filled parade, students will have thechance to form firm friendships. Together, they will growand excel in new skills and talents.
• Our multi-disciplined approach includes outdoor gamesand adventure, drill, community service and leadershiptraining. Each student will be nurtured in the criticalvalues of obedience, reverence, discipline and self-respectto reach his/her full potential as an active contributor tosociety.
• Sessions are held on Thursdays, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm,in the PAL Room.

Literary, Drama and Debate Club
• Students will be exposed to Speechand Drama, as well as Debating skills.
• Vendors will be engaged to conductdebating workshops.
• Learning journeys will be conductedto expose and develop students tobecome competent writers andconfident speakers.

• Costumes have also been purchasedand there will be opportunities forstudents to showcase their talent viarole-play.
