CITIZEN CHARTER
VISION
To create an enabling environment for all Food Business Operators in Delhi to comply with
norms for safety and standards established under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, Rules
and Regulations 2011, and ensure availability of wholesome and safe food to the citizens.
MISSION
To coordinate and plan with Food Business Operators to implement Food Safety
Management System in a time bound manner.
Initiate and carry out capacity building and training of Food Business operators toenhance technical knowhow and commitment for implementation of scientific system
of food safety management, including storage, manufacturing and distribution practices.
To carry out awareness generation among consumers to adopt practices of self
regulation.
To empower consumers to check and monitor the standards of food.

Food Business Operators: - Manufacturer and Processor assured of quality of supply of raw
material and thereby manufacturing quality product. Wholesaler and Retailers are assured
of quality supply and customer confidence. Importer/Exporter is assured standards of
international level. System of product approval ensures Safety and Standards of the product.
Proprietary food can gain wider acceptance by seeking product approval.
Scientific Community: - Promotion of scientific research and sharing of information will
benefit all research and testing laboratories.
THE COMMITMENT TOWARDS PUBLIC
Assures availability of wholesome foods at home and public places.
To take all necessary steps to prevent occurrence of food poisoning in any establishment.
Assurance of strict action against all defaulters, violators of Act including manufacturers,
suppliers, distributors.
Assures transparent and speedy grievance redressal mechanism.
Assure that products harmful for human consumption are not manufactured or available for
sale.
TIME SCHEDULE TO ATTEND GRIEVANCES:-
Specific grievance regarding ready to eat food
Lifting of samples on complaint - 15 days.
Analyzing sample - 15 days
Taking remedial action - 15 days
General Grievance:- - 30 days
Grievance regarding supply of substandard food article Material—45days
