Certified Business Professional Program (CBP) What is CBP? CBP stands for ‘Certified Business Professional’. It is a qualification offered since 2003 by the International Business Training Association (IBTA) USA, Florida. The CBP program is an international industry credential that validates and develops the competency for entry-level business professionals. The CBP program establishes a foundation-level, industry-neutral certification for business professionals enabling employers and the candidate to have a foundation to develop the CBP for targeted positions within corporations. The CBP also develops important life-skills that transcend the work environment into many aspects of living. Who is IBTA? The IBTA is a knowledge centred organization committed to the training and certifying of business professionals to international standards. The IBTA is committed to:

• Maintaining a common body of knowledge for business professionals • Providing global leadership in soft-skills for business professionals • Certifying business professionals in international standards • Administering training and certification examinations • Ensuring credentials are maintained and relevant through continuing education

What areas are covered by this program? There are three certification tracks: CBP Professional, CBP Executive and CBP Master Executive. Professional Track The CBP Professional credential is for professionals who desire to possess the foundation business skills required to support and lead today’s organizations. These foundations skills are required by major institutions and organizations as a measure of competency.

In order to attain the CBP Professional credential, candidates must attend one of the five CBP Professional modules and pass the associated exam, which consist of the following:

Executive Track The CBP Executive credential is for business professionals who wish to demonstrate expertise in all five CBP foundation areas of Leadership, Customer Service, Sales, Business Etiquette and Professional and Business Communication. The CBPe is a business executive who has developed a wide cross section of business skills and can also integrate into a variety of positions within corporations.

In order to attain the CBP Executive credential, candidates must attend all the five CBP Professional modules and pass all associated exams, which consist of the following:

Master Executive Track The CBP Master Executive program is for candidates who wish to specialize and gain mastery in specific business skills segments such as Sales and Marketing, Project Management, Business Management and Technology. To achieve the CBP Master Executive designation candidates must complete the CBP Professional exams and sit one of the following CBP elective certifications:

What are the entry requirements?

• Candidates must have a commitment to the pursuit of excellence. • Candidates must have completed (or be in the process of completing) a high

school or secondary school diploma or equivalent.

How many hours is each course? The CBP Professional courses are designed to be delivered in approximately 20 contact hours and the Master Executive courses in approximately 40 hours. However, ATP is flexible in the timeframe it uses to teach this course, depending on client needs or based on the skills assessment. Each module can be delivered in a timeframe spanning from two days to two weeks or more based on clients need. Is there an assessment for this program? Yes, an assessment can be conducted for each of the courses making up each track. To achieve CBP Professional, one exam must be taken; to achieve CBP Executive five exams must be taken; to achieve CBP Master Executive all five of the CBP Executive Exams must be taken plus one of the four CBP Master Executive exams. What format do the exams take? CBP exams are not written exams; instead they are Skills\performance based test. Using real life scenarios, participants are asked to perform a series of tasks that can demonstrate their skills. CBP exams consist of multiple choice and scenario based questions. The exam must be taken at an authorized Prometric PRIME testing centre. There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can sit for the exam. What is the exam pass mark? The pass mark for the exam is 70 percent. How long does the exam take? Exam delegates have two hours to complete the exam; however, most delegates find they can complete the exam in 45 minutes or less. What happens if an exam candidate fails the exam? There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can retake the exam.

What is the exam retake fee? Foundation Level retake Exams charges per exam: USD$ 95 Master Level retake exam charges per exam: USD$ 120 BIS retake exam charges per exam: USD$ 120 Will participants receive a certificate for this program? Participants will receive a certificate for successful completion of the exams. A CBP Professional, CBP Executive, CBP Master Executive or Professional certificate in any of BIS series designation will be awarded on completion of the requisite assessment (see above). Yes, the following IVD tutors are certified CBP instructors:

• To be confirmed As an authorized CBP training provider ATP must employ or maintain an exclusive relationship with a minimum of one CBP Certified Instructor (CBP CI) per campus. CBP CIs can be fulltime, part-time or contract instructors. If contract instructors are used they must be certified as a CBP CI by the IBTA. What are Track Learning Solutions Student Fees? Professional level courses – Track Learning charge US$140 per student, per course, which covers the cost of the student workbook and the exam. There is a discount available for bulk purchases. Master level courses - Track Learning charge US$205 per student, per course, which covers the cost of the student workbook and the exam. There is a discount available for bulk purchases.
