acupuncture(n.): a Chinese method of treating pain and illness using special thin needles which are pushed into the skin in particular parts of the body
curandoro(n.): a folk healer or medicine man who uses herbs or hallucinogenic plants, magic, and spiritualism to treat illness, induce visions, impart traditional wisdom, etc.
traditional (adj.)
: being part of the beliefs, customs or way of life of a particular group of people, that have not changed for a long time
e.g. traditional medicine
Get to know: Present Perfect Tense We use the
Present Perfect to say that an action happened at an unspecified time before now.
Example :
- Many modern doctors have shown interest in traditional remedies.
- Over the last ten years, there has been a growth of interest in alternative remedies in developed countries.
How to use Present Perfect
1. to describe experience.
2. to talk about change that has happened over a period of time.
3. to list the accomplishments of individuals and humanity.
1. I have been to France.
2. My English has really improved since I moved to Australia.
3. Doctors have cured many deadly diseases.

4. to say that an action which we expected has not happened.
5. to talk about several different actions which have occurred in the past at different times.
