GENERAL NOTE TECH. DATA

FEATURES

CB-KKN-S is a filter designed for the neutralisation of acidic pH water. Among the possible applications include the treatment of condensate from condensing boilers.

Neutralization of condensate water : The waste water from gas-fired heat generators (condensing boilers), because of their acidity, cannot be discharged directly into the sewage system if not properly neutralised.

The neutraliser filter CB-KKN has the particular feature (that only filters CB-KKN have) to neutralize the acidity of condensate water, mantaining the pH value in the treated water still within the permissible limits for discharge into the public sewerage. This occurs even after prolonged stays of the water in the neutraliser filter (eg.: during the nights, week-ends..).

Filters CB-KKN are available in varous sizes to neutralise the condensate water coming from boilers of different power outputs. The proper pH of neutralised water can be periodically checked with a litmus test or with a pH-meter.

The proper pH of the neutralised water can be periodically checked with a litmus test or with a pH-meter.

Attention

The special filter material contained inside the CB-KKN neutralising filter always allows to keep the pH value within the parameters prescribed by legislation. Only the body of an exhausted filter needs replacing, the mounting head remains the same.

INSTALLATION START UP

INSTALLATION

AttentionAttentionAttentionAttention

If the boiler is installed externally the neutraliser must be protected from icing up, protected from vapors of solvents, combustible oil, cleansers, chemical substances of any kind, ultraviolet rays and superior sources of heat above 40°C.

Leave at least 50 cm above the filter, to give the filter some head height and 30 cm under the filter for maintenance

For the installation read the following suggestions:

• Fasten the bracket to the wall (the mounting material is not included).

• Interlock the head filter on the bracket.

• Connect the filter to drain the boiler condensate observing the direction of water flow (see the arrowon the head).

• Insert the filter into the head by screwing it clockwise.

BEFORE STARTING THE SYSTEM CHECK THAT ALL THE PIPES ARE WELL CONNECTED

The first treated liquid delivered will be with a greyish-white color, typical of the product. This effect will disappear after a few litres.

The CB-KKN must be installed as per diagram below using plastic pipe to a sewer trap.A tundish must be allow for under the condensate drain of the boiler.

ORDINARY MAINTENANCE

ORDINARY MAINTENANCE

During programmed maintenance check the water tightness of all drain fittings.

AttentionAttentionAttentionAttention

To maintain the neutraliser, it is recommend to check the condensate every 6 months and then possibly every year with annual maintenance. It might be nessesary to test the condensate more fequently depending on the load.

• Check periodically the pH of the water exiting the neutraliser. It must be between 5,5-9,5.

• If the pH value was outside the range of use, replace the cartridge.

Cartridge replacement

• The replacement must be executed when the boiler is turned off (in case of neutralisation ofcondensate water)

• Wait a few minutes to cool down the body of the filter (in case of neutralisation of condensate water)• Intercept the filter• Unscrew the cartridge to be repleced• Screw the new cartridge clockwise• Switch on the boiler• Check that there are no leaks from the filter
