Debating competitions are always a highly anticipated in Cavan. Competitions argue for title in impromptu debat- ing, and debating. Along side are the impromptu public speaking competition and team public speaking. A special award was also giv- en to Naomi McElwaine for her work over the past three years as county secretary. She put in many many many hours of work, including the organi- sation of the national AGM in Cavan. Thanks to Naomi! Clubs join to cele- brate a successful year of competi- tions On Saturday clubs from all around Cavan came together to present awards from the last year of competitions. There are a variety of differ- ent competitions that mem- bers were involved in. These include agriculture competi- tions—farm skills, dairy stock judging, beef stock judging, sheep stock judging, welding and the highly sought after Know Your Ag Quiz prize. Other sections include sport. This year was the first year that there was a volleyball competition in the county. Ramor Macra came out as victors during the battle against a combined Knock- bride/Cross team. Other competitions include indoor soccer, tag rugby, basketball, and GAA.
