COME TOGETHER FOR A NIGHT OF ONE ACT PLAYS. HOW HAVE YOU IMPROVED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED WRITING? jordan VINES (12) I’d like to say I’ve ex- panded my abilities to write about different subjects, I’ve started writing more contem- porary things and exploring different topics that have to do with today, not just the past setting. HOW DOES WRITING SHOWS COMPARE TO PERFORMING IN THEM? JV The beauty of writing is that it’s pure cre- ation. When you’re approaching a character in any kind of show, like a straight play or a musical, you get to bring your own per- sonality to that character. When it comes to actually creating characters you're giving more than one character a personality, and it’s not just about who you are, it’s about who they are. It’s not something you think about because if you get cast in a show, you’re like ‘okay, this is this character; this is what this character’s like. How can I project that? How can I make it reality?' DO YOU SEE WRITING IN YOUR FUTURE? JV I can’t see myself not doing it. It’s become such a part of who I am, and my way of vent- ing emotions. It’s a very fun process and a very necessary process for me. I’m always writing. All the time. It’s ridiculous. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOME- ONE INTERESTED IN WRITING? JV It’s all about reading. If you want to write a book, the best thing to do is start reading other novels. If you want to write a screen- play, the best thing to do is start watching other movies. est. COME TOGETHER FOR A NIGHT OF ONE ACT PLAYS.

HOW HAVE YOU IMPROVED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED WRITING?jordan VINES (12) I’d like to say I’ve ex-panded my abilities to write about different subjects, I’ve started writing more contem-porary things and exploring different topics that have to do with today, not just the past setting.

HOW DOES WRITING SHOWS COMPARE TO PERFORMING IN THEM?JV The beauty of writing is that it’s pure cre-ation. When you’re approaching a character

in any kind of show, like a straight play or a musical, you get to bring your own per-sonality to that character. When it comes to actually creating characters you're giving more than one character a personality, and it’s not just about who you are, it’s about who they are. It’s not something you think about because if you get cast in a show, you’re like ‘okay, this is this character; this is what this character’s like. How can I project that? How can I make it reality?'

DO YOU SEE WRITING IN YOUR FUTURE?

JV I can’t see myself not doing it. It’s become such a part of who I am, and my way of vent-ing emotions. It’s a very fun process and a very necessary process for me. I’m always writing. All the time. It’s ridiculous.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOME-ONE INTERESTED IN WRITING?JV It’s all about reading. If you want to write a book, the best thing to do is start reading other novels. If you want to write a screen-play, the best thing to do is start watching other movies.
