Psalm 68 (1)

This is my prayer to you, my prayer for your favour. In your great love, answer me, O God, with your help that never fails: Lord, answer, for your love is kind; in your compassion, turn towards me.

R: Seek the Lord, you who are poor, and your hearts will revive.

Psalm 68 (2)

As for me in my poverty and pain let your help, O God, lift me up. I will praise God’s name with a song: I will glorify him with thanksgiving.

R: Seek the Lord, you who are poor, and your hearts will revive.

The poor when they see it will be glad and God-seeking hearts will revive; for the Lord listens to the needy and does not spurn his servants in their chains.

R: Seek the Lord, you who are poor, and your hearts will revive.

Psalm 68 (3)

For God will bring help to Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah and men shall dwell there in possession. The sons of his servants shall inherit it; those who love his name shall dwell there.

R: Seek the Lord, you who are poor, and your hearts will revive.

Psalm 68 (4)

Have you ever wondered?

How do I decide what and how much to buy? Should I give money to that beggar? How should I behave towards foreign workers? How should I react to so much disaster in the news?

How can I practice what Jesus preached: To love my neighbour?

Page 20: Catholic social teaching

● The human person is loved by God infinitely and created in God’s own image.

● Each one of us has a special dignity.

● Do we treat all people with the same respect? Or do we treat some groups of people better than others?

Page 21: Catholic social teaching

● Our aim is the good of all, not just the majority

● Every person matters● The good of the whole person

matters: material, spiritual, social, emotional and intellectual needs

● Who are the people whose needs are not being met?

Page 22: Catholic social teaching

● The family is the most important unit of society

● The family can influence how the State (country) acts in solving discrimination, poverty, etc

● How can I help build a stronger family unit that can influence society?

Page 23: Catholic social teaching

● God wants us to be together● When we help others, we must

not take away their dignity● Each of us has a right to have a

say in decisions that affect us● We are all in this together● Who is being discriminated

against in our society? How can I make a difference?

happens to me● Who is being discriminated

● Whatever work we do, whether cleaning tables or brain surgery, we can be proud of it as long as it promotes human development.

● All people should have working conditions fitting children of God.

● Who are the workers who are not being treated with respect? What can I do?
