I have known Stacey on a professional and personal level for the past five years, since commencing my employment at Charles Sturt University (CSU) in 2009. Part of my role is to put together a conference for Indigenous staff at CSU on an annual basis. Each year I seek volunteers to support putting the conference together, including content/agenda, all aspects of the design, which changes each year. Stacey has provided me with an immense amount of support for two years running with Nguluway (Indigenous Staff Conference). Stacey has created the designs and themes including posters, invitations, thankyou cards, registration forms, name tags, stickers, run sheets and assisted with emceeing the conference. Stacey was able to deliver incredible creative works when under pressure, all of which were completely her own ideas and design elements. Stacey’s contribution to Nguluway has, without doubt, helped create a professional looking conference with consistency in design and allowed the conference to run smoothly by ensuring all details were included in the documentation while still incorporating a theme. Along with Stacey’s designs bringing a level of professionalism and consistency to the conference, her assistance with organising and running the conference has been invaluable. Not only does Stacey have an eye for design but also an eye for details and was often highlighting processes that needed to be addressed, that I sometimes overlooked. I have also seen several of Stacey’s works – clothing, shoes, makeup and general designs that she has put together and believe that with encouragement and support, Stacey has the ability to succeed in anything she puts her mind to, especially roles that allow her to explore her creative talents. I wish Stacey the best of luck with this nomination and in any challenge she takes on. Should you require further, information, please do not hesitate to contact me on the details below.
