WHAT IS CATARACT ?

Cataract is the clouding around the lens of the eye and as the cloudiness of lens increases, light reaching to the retina gets blocked which causes a decrease vision.

SYMPTOMS OF CATARACT

Cataract symptoms include a clouding of the lens of the eye. Its formation affects the vision slowly and painlessly but with the time vision gets worse.

Clouded, blurred or dim vision. Increasing difficulty with vision at night. Sensitivity to light and glare. Seeing "halos" around lights. Frequent changes in eyeglass or contact lens prescription. Fading or yellowing of colors. Double vision in a single eye.

Cataract surgery involves removing the cataract by emulsifying the lens by ultrasound and replacing it with a small plastic lens. This artificial lens is then stabilized within the same lens capsule that held your natural lens.
