Gather all the data.

To make it easier to choose your staircase, we advise you to draw a plan o the starting and landing oor noting down allthe measurements you make. Use the graph paper at the end o the catalogue, specifcally designed or you to plan your

staircase.

FLOOR-TO-FLOOR HEIGHT

Measure the distance rom the

fnished lower oor (starting) to

the fnished upper oor (landing)

and the oor thickness.

OPENING DIMENSION

I there is already an opening:

measure the opening on the

upper oor. For a round opening,

Glossary.

BALUSTRADE: a rail positioned on the upper oor (landing) to

prevent alling through the opening in the oor.

CODE: 9-digit number to be used to order the staircase.

It can be identifed by reerring to the tables relating to the

staircase selected.

CONFIGURATION: shape o the staircase. This term is also used to

reer to the shape o the fnished staircase.

For spiral staircases there are two types o confguration: round

or square. For winder staircases you can have an I-confguration

where the staircase is rectilinear, a U-confguration where the

staircase has two curves, and an L-confguration where it has only

one curve.

GOING: depth o the tread rom the ront edge o the tread to the

projection o the ront edge o the next tread. For winder staircases

the going is adjustable according to predefned values based on

the model and according to the current regulations.

The adjustment is made by moving the tread arther orward or

backward during installation.

HEIGHT (OF THE STAIRCASE): vertical distance rom the fnished

lower oor (starting oor) to the fnished upper oor (landing

oor).

LANDING: last tread o a spiral staircase. It may have dierent

shapes (triangular, trapezoidal or circular) depending on theopening in the oor.

LANDING FLOOR: upper oor where the staircase ends.

LANDING POINT: or spiral staircases this is the landing, while

or winder and spacesaver staircases it is the direct upper oor

landing.

NUMBER OF RISES:used as unit o measure to identiy the

various staircase codes/kits, or example, staircase with 11, 12,

13 or 15 rises.

OPENING IN THE FLOOR: the opening in the oor in which the

staircase is ftted. It may be round or square or a direct oor

landing (no opening).

RISE: vertical distance between the surace o two consecutive

treads. This distance is adjustable according to predefned values

that vary rom staircase to staircase and have been established

based on the current regulations. Changing the value o the rise

changes the total height o the staircase. The larger the number o

rises, the smaller the value o the rise. Thereore, a staircase with a

larger number o rises should have smaller steps.

Warning: this does not always correspond to the number o

treads!

ROTATION: ascending direction o the staircase, which may be

clockwise or anticlockwise.

SPACESAVER STAIRCASE: straight staircase characterised bytreads with a reduced width specifcally shaped to allow a steeply

sloped ight o stairs. Its load-bearing structure consists o

supports positioned under the treads.

SPIRAL STAIRCASE: staircase characterised by treads and a fnal

landing in a circular arrangement astened to a central pole.

STAIRCASE DIAMETER: diameter o a spiral staircase including

the railing.

STAIRCASE WIDTH: total width o a winder or spacesaver

staircase. This value is given by the dimension o the tread plus

any railings.

STAIRWELL: useul vertical and horizontal space in which the

staircase is ftted.

STARTING FLOOR: lower oor rom where the staircase begins.

STARTING POINT: frst tread o the staircase on the lower oor.

TYPE: reers to the type o staircase, spiral staircase, winder

staircase and spacesaver staircase.

WINDER STAIRCASE OR OPEN STAIRCASE: staircase characterised

by a series o straight or anned out treads whose load-bearing

structure consists o supports positioned under the treads.

rotation during installation. This allows ully adapting it

to the stairwell as well as choosing the confguration:

rectilinear, with one curve or with two curves. The

staircase is made o steel painted white or iron grey. The

treads are in light or cherry-stained birch plywood.The handrail is in PVC with an aluminium core and is


the staircase. The railing is made up o painted steel

balusters and parallel PVC tubes in the same colour as

the balusters.

The fnishes are in the same colour as the steel parts.

The going is adjustable rom 18 to 22 cm (or 70 cm

treads) and rom 22 to 26 cm (or 80 and 90 cm

treads).

rotation during installation. This allows ully adapting it

to the stairwell as well as choosing the confguration:

rectilinear, with one curve or with two curves.

The treads are in light or cherry-stained birch plywood.

The handrail is in PVC with an aluminium core and isavailable in white or iron grey to match the colour o

the staircase.

The railing is made up o painted steel balusters.

The fnishes are in the same colour as the steel par ts.

The going is adjustable rom 18 to 22 cm (or 70 cm

treads) and rom 22 to 26 cm (or 80 and 90 cm

treads).

Planning your staircase.

Magia90.Xtra and Magia90 are made up o 11, 12, 13 or 15 rises with steel

supports and a railing on one side.

Reerring to the table on the side, identiy the height you need to reach and thenumber o rises required and then go to the pages indicated to fnd the geometrical

confguration most suited to your home.

The plans rom page 70 to 83 indicate the maximum and minimum dimensions o all the

possible confgurations. The dierent arrangement o the treads and the choice o goings

(rom 18 to 22 cm or the 70 cm width, and rom 22 to 26 cm or the 80 and 90 cm

widths) allow you to choose rom 894 dierent confgurations.

Magia90.Xtra and Magia90 are adjustable in rise, going and rotation. The direction o

rotation o the staircase may be clockwise or anticlockwise and is decided at the time o

installation.

IS THERE ALREADY AN OPENING?

Look through the 894 plans and fnd the one where the opening is smaller than the

opening in your oor. Take into account that the opening in the oor must have at

least the dimensions o the staircase less three treads or 15 rises, less two treads

or 13 rises, less one tread or 12 rises, and less zero or 11 rises.

DOES THE OPENING STILL NEED TO BE MADE?

Look through the 894 plans and fnd the one most suited to your stairwell: the

opening in the oor must have at least the dimensions indicated in the plan less

three treads or 15 rises, less two treads or 13 rises, less one tread or 12 rises

and less zero or 11 rises.

Magia30 is the staircase dedicated to small spaces.

It is made with steel supports painted white or

iron grey with fnishes in the same colours as the

support. The treads are in light or cherry-stained birch

plywood.

The railing is made up o painted steel balusters inthe same colour as the support.
