Rhino Ply is a long lasting and durable plywood that is bonded with marine grade glue – this gives your cabinet/s superior protection against moisture absorption or swelling caused by exposure to water or high humidity.The bonded surface of Rhino Ply is made from sheets of high pressure laminate, which is hard wearing, water resistant, stain resistant and easy to clean. Cabinetry such as kitchen and vanity carcasses made from Rhino Ply, are incredibly durable, rigid and strong.• 16mm plywood – two faces laminated with HPL• Plywood species: Poplar• 0.6mm satin white high pressure laminate• 2440 x 1220mm• 17mm tolerance + - 0.5mm overall thickness• 57 sheets per pack• Factory tested for water & heat resistance• Plywood core has marine bonded E1 glue further

FEaTUrES & BEnEFiTS:Benefits – Rhino Ply is a 9 ply construction, providing superior stability and durability. Kitchens will continue to hold their shape and will look great for years to come. HPL finish is hard wearing and easily cleaned. Lightweight panel – 28kg per sheet. Strength & Durability – Nover’s Rhino Ply can be applied in high use areas such as kitchens, laundries, vanities and hotels. It’s also ideal for wardrobes, workshops and garage storage systems.rigidity – Nover’s Rhino Ply will keep your kitchen and cabinetry looking great for years to come!

CnC or nESTED BaSE ManUFaCTUringrouter bit – For best results use an up cut/down cut, plunge cutter 12mm diamond router bit (see your preferred tooling supplier for advice).

Dimension or Beam Saw: It is important to correctly set up using a scriber saw. Then simply use the same technique as with other substrates also ensuring main blade is approx. 50mm high. When cutting Rhino Ply, the life expectancy of a tooling blade is only about half that of when using MDF or PB.

Handling: Weight 28kg per sheet. Rhino Ply is approx. 25% lighter than F2S low pressure laminated MDF or PB. To avoid injury to hands, arise the edges of cut panels.

Edge Banding: Finish with Rehau 0.9mm UG PVC. Our plywood holds well to PVC. For best results, PVC your cut panels in the same direction as machined. Otherwise give the ply edge a quick once over with sand paper. Chipping & imperfections: Look out for small laminate chips caused by slight thickness variations once cut. There can be small dimples and light scratches on the surfaces of the high pressure laminate that will not be noticeable as a finished product. These imperfections are within the product specification guidelines.

Drilling: Always pre drill and counter sink as per normal trade practices.

Easy clean: The satin high pressure laminate surface allows for easy cleaning after assembly and for client once the kitchen is installed.

CUTTingmethod:Basic

1. MARkING GAUGE – This is mainly used for score snapping thin materials up to 5mm. When cutting a panel, use a suitable ruler or straight edge and score the line two or three times. The groove must be uniform in depth across the panel and be approximately 25% of the panels thickness. Position the panel so the groove faces upward and fold or snap the panel over a suitable piece of wood which follows the score line. This method is only used over short lengths of material. (Not recommended for Akril panel if edge is critical.)

2. CIRCULAR SAW – Cutting work using a circular saw may be achieved using a running saw, sliding bed panel, up-down lathe or the like. The circular saw requires a blade with super hard alloy teeth and no offset. You can obtain a plastic cutting blade or any blade with no offset such as those used for cutting aluminium would be acceptable. When bracing the Akril panel for fabrication ensure you take care to protect the surfaces whilst cutting.

3. CNC ROUTER – This is a specialist method of fabrication. It is used for intricate part fabrication, shapes and exact cutting specifications. If you do not have a CNC router machine you will have to seek out an industry professional to supply this method.

Blade requirements– Blade outer diameter 255-305mm, number of teeth 80-100, tooth thickness 3.0-3.5mm, angle of relief 15-20, hook angle 15-20, angle of setting band 2-3, revolution 3000-5000rpm, feeding speed 3-6mm/minother methods– Jig saws and band saws are acceptable for cutting Akril panels. Use blades suited for plastic or aluminium

SUrFaCE rESToraTionSanding–Depending on the severity of the scratch, a fine surface abrasion or scratch may simply polish out where a deep etched scratch will require a more involved process:

1. If necessary, start with 120-220 grit sandpaper, used dry2. Smooth with a 400 grit wet/dry paper, used wet. Grits as fine as 600

may be used3. Finish with 800 Grit wet and dry used wet, you may want to go as fine

as 1200grit4. To obtain a gloss finish use a polishing compound that can polish plastic,

silver or brass; wash off excess residue with warm water5. Always use a wooden or rubber sanding block. When removing

scratches be sure to sand an area slightly larger than the scratch. Sand with a circular motion, and use a light touch and plenty of water with wet/dry papers try not to over sand. Remember to rinse the sanding residue off between the paper grades

notes on finishing– Final polishing will give Akril panels a high lustre. Power-driven buffering tools are recommended without exception. Buffing wheels are available as attachments for electric drills. A good buffing wheel for Akril consists of layers of 5mm carbonised felt, layers of unbleached muslin laid together to form a wheel or woollen wheels. Solidly stitched wheels should be avoided. The wheel should reach a surface speed of at least 400 metres per minute. Speeds of up to 1200 metres of minute are useful for Akril panel.Akril panel should be polished using a commercial buffing compound of the type used for silver or brass, or you can use a non-silicone car polish that has no cleaning solvents in it. First, however, tallow should be applied to the

wheel as a base for the buffing compound. Just touch the tallow stick to the spinning wheel, and then quickly apply the buffing compound. To polish, move the piece back and forth across the buffing wheel. Be careful not to apply too much pressure. keep the wheel constantly moving to prevent heat build-up. Never begin polishing at the edge of the sheet. The wheel could easily catch the top edge and throw the piece across the room or at you.

Drilling & aDHESivESDrilling–A drill press or electrical drill may be used. A standard metal or wood drill will cut into the Akril panel very quickly and may cause damage through cracking or splitting. You will need to modify the tooth edge of the drill bit by grinding the tip angle to increase its size (flatten) so that the material is scraped away rather than cut, a commercially available plastic drill bit of a blunt drill bit may by acceptable.

1. When drilling Akril panel using a drill press the revolving speed is INCREASED if the hole diameter is small (0-4mm)

2. If the hole is large in diameter DECREASE the speed. A hole saw may be used to further enlarge the opening; make sure it is a metal type of hole saw with no offset

3. You can also use a plunging type router to produce a hole in Akril panel, employ the same principles as electric drilling methods

Tips for drilling• Firmly secure material before drilling• Be extremely cautious with thinner materials as damage can easily occur,

for large holes remember to reduce drilling speed• To assist in avoiding cracking place a sheet of timber or plastic of 5-10mm

underneath the cutting area and allow the tool to continue into this supportIf you are having your panel fabricated by CNC Router the machine will be able to produce the holes for you as long as you supply the centres and locations. adhesives–When installing Akril panel ensure the usage of a high quality neutral cure glass and glazing silicone, inferior products may affect the specialised coating if incorrectly used. A product such as Fuller HBF660 high performance silicone (Nover code 520260) would be the ideal adhesive. When installing any panels to wet areas a parameter silicone seal is required to stop any water or moisture affective the specialised coating.

THE LuxE COLLECTIOnThe Luxe collection is the result of applying state of the art lacquering technologies combined with the latest generation of materials. The result is the creation of both modern and elegant designs for kitchen, bathroom, home and interior design.The Luxe collection includes both intense and attractive solid colours, modern woodgrains and fantasy colours.Luxe is a melamine faced panel with a layer of polyurethane and transparent primer applied. Luxe is finished with a transparent polyester and a UV drying process. This process, combined with a melamine back, gives Luxe superior scratch resistance & a beautiful gloss finish.Luxe has a standard sheet size of 2750 x 1220 x 18mm MRMDF and comes finished 1 side with a matching melamine back. All Luxe colours have matching U/G ABS edge band.

All Ultraglaze doors and panels are constructed using low emission EO environmentally accredited board. The highly scratch resistant mirror finish surface is a totally recyclable abs/acrylic that is bonded using state of the art PUR adhesive. All components of an Ultraglaze product are virtually emission and VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) free. This places Ultraglaze at the upper end of eco friendly door and panel products available in the market today and that helps all of us make a better choice for your environment.

The Alta Forma range of realistic stone patterns and contemporary plains and abstracts has been developed in consultation with the Australian and NZ market.The Alta Forma range of postforming high pressure laminates are available in texture, Durogloss and marble finishes. They are designed and manufactured in order to guarantee physical and chemical features that are equal to, or greater than, the international standards.The benefits of Alta Forma laminates include their attractiveness, durability, affordability and day-to-day practicality. The laminate surface is nonporous which inhibits the proliferation of fungi and bacteria and does not retain dirt. Maintenance is therefore very simple – just wipe down!Alta Forma laminates can be used in a variety of applications including kitchen benchtops, bathroom vanity units, for door and drawer fronts, shop fittings, office furniture and workstations.

PROPERTIEs, PERFORMAnCE & APPLICABLE sTAnDARDsAltaForma laminates are designed and manufactured in order to guarantee physical and chemical features that are equal to or greater than the international standards established for High Pressure Laminates by NEMA LD3.2005.

CLEAnInGAs it has a smooth, non-porous surface, the laminate does not accumulate dirt, therefore making it difficult for fungi and bacteria to proliferate. It is, therefore, very easy to conserve: just wipe down with a damp cloth soaked in a household cleaning product that does not contain solvents or any highly aggressive cleaning agents, such as abrasive materials.Wax (or silicone) must also not be used, because when applied to the surface of the laminate, it forms a greasy film that makes it difficult to clean and spoils its appearance.
