e Eighth International Graphic Trien-nial in Bitola, marks its twenty years ofexistence, period in which some kind ofcompletion of collective artistic expression,formed by countless ecliptic of constantfinding, confession, sensuality, desire totranscend the banal, and finally to reachthe real deep communication in harmonywith everything.

e presence of about 5,000 authors fromaround the world up to now, with a muchhigher number of works, today examinedin an anthological way, re-examined,revived again, looks like a kind of reminis-cence of the Sisyphean human obsessionto be in what we still so ambitiously callcivilization.

roughout the past twenty years, consist-ently and with metronomic repeatability

was set the belief or the thought that thesum of the painting art, the presence of theculture, the creativity, can change, can en-noble, can devise the human existence.

All the previous efforts of the authors toprove or to reach the unattainable, noticedhere through diaries - catalogues, is moreand more inundated with thick impenetra-ble dust of oblivion, indifference, nothing-ness.

e Eighth Triennial although attemptsby the presence of impeccable and diverseaesthetics and the latest voice of hope orego, who knows, to create or to providesome excuse for its existence and the exist-ence of art in general, today, it seems, in

very strong, solid and convincing accuratedeterminations of any kind - not only doesit fail to step forward in disrupting of the

overall density of the misty disappearance,but, paradoxically, by trying to prove thatin any attempt having the smallest contentof the cultural context, precipitously movesto the rapid and definitive oblivion andneedless.

Aer twenty years, taking into account theoverall indifference of all possible urbanlandscapes of human vanity and alwaysglorious ambition for fame, power andgreed to material fairs, today we won-

der whether and who really needs theseanachronous events, and for what? So farand retrograde versus the faster and faster,and celebrity Atlantean progress.
