Shrikanth, a visually impaired by birth, is involved in the creation of wooden products. His life changed when he signed up for self skilled training program through the organization. The most important thing he learned during his course of training is that he can develop his skills without the barrier of disability to earn a bit to live a life with dignity.

Shrikanth recalls the training was empowering, and reinforced his ability to live independently with a disability. He felt better informed about the potential risks people with disabilities could encounter during a disaster or crisis situation. It was much needed change for

him, when he had to deal with mistreatment of his own parents, during early initial days. When he finishes the wooden materials, little bit of polish to give it a finishing touch. The pen stand and cardholder are some of the product he makes.

His condition makes anyone think that most of the job should be inaccessible for him, but that didn't stop him from doing anything. He travels to shop independently though he faces little bit difficulty while handling money at times. He also deposits his salary in the bank every week. He is very enthusisatic to help others. He assists his father with his office work during the week-ends.

He earns little bit of income but quite good enough to live a dignified life, by making stencil painting and block printings. His job is not a white collar glamorous job, it might be dull, repetitive kind of work for most of you, he don't see it that way. He is hard-working and passionate in doing it. He have managed to learn the basic techniques of stencil painting and block-printing. He always puts remarkable and genuine effort, which makes everyone around him feel inspired.
