The PC4® biological plant with technology MBBR consists in a compact system plug-and-play

solution type thought for the domestic or industrial waste water treatment.

The biological treatment applied is an advanced process of Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR)

with different compartments including (anoxic chamber, biological reactor and lamella settling). The

moving bed is a technology based on the development of specific microorganisms growth on a fix

inert support, the carriers.

This is an advanced alternative technology economically advantaged in front of the conventional

activated sludge systems. The average performance of the MBBR biological systems is higher than

95% for the DBO5, DQO, SS, N and P removal.

The basic concept of the installation is to operate inside

normalized containers of ISO dimensions, which

facilitates its transport and installation anywhere in the

world

The container can be adapted to resist harsh climate and

the hardness of the waste water to be treated.

The compact pre-treatment consists in different normalized modules in ISO dimensions and includes

the following elements:

Prefabricated inlet pumping

station of the entering waste water

to the preliminary treatment.

Compact preliminary treatment consists in a fine

screening to remove the solids coming with the inlet raw

water.

2 or 3 chambers depending on the treatment

required for each case.

Plastic carriers of high specific internal

The compact plant has a monoblock structure of

welded steel.

Internal compartments are made of PRFV panels with

mechanic reinforcements of orthophthalic resin and a

chemical protector barrier of vinylesther resin which

gives more strength.

CORNERSEC system avoids any possible

loss of water between panel unions.

STRUCTURE

The structure realizes full integration of structural

and mechanical elements and includes a

footbridge giving access to all of them.

For the installation in the plant the requirements are

leveling of the ground and civil engineering work

on a concrete slab.

The unit is completely ready for the

outdoor installation. When installing it into

extreme climates, we offer the possibility to

cover its upper side and it is also possible the

thermal insulating of walls.

The projected system consists in a moving bed biological process with extended aeration in

MBBR or IFAS configuration.

Biological reactor is easy to set in 1, 2 or 3 chambers depending on the needs of each client.

Chambers will operate independently and each individual working conditions are adjusted to obtain

the desired treatment results.

In each chamber is developed one specific microorganism

growth which helps to decompose the organic materials and this

way is obtained a high quality of treated water.

The configurable processing variables in each chamber

depending on the process needs are the following ones:

• Mixing power.

• Aeration.

• Type of carriers

(depending on its specific surface) .

• Percentage and density of the filling media.

The working conditions in each chamber are totally controlled by

probes and are easily adjustable from the control panel.

Their function is to enable the growth of specific microorganisms attached

over a surface so, this way we achieve higher biomass concentration

comparing to the MLSS processes.

This treatment substantially reduces the volume required and therefore

the surface needed for the treatment and achieves a higher level of

elimination rate of DBO5 and nutrients.

PLASTIC CARRIERS

The type of plastic carriers are selected to obtain the optimal density of microorganisms and to

achieve the desired treatment results in the most efficient way.

Its design and operation characteristics enable the process to achieve a performance superior to

95% of organic matter removal and supports much better the peak of pollution loads.

The design of the support is unique and its characteristics are:

• High efficiency and high specific internal surface.

• Inert material resistant to corrosion and chemical attack.

• Low costs per surface unit.16

The biofilm consists of a solid and a

liquid matrix where volumetric split of

liquid matrix represents about 80% of its

volume.

The solid matrix is formed by

heterotrophic bacteria, nitrifying

bacteria, biodegradable DQO and inert

DQO.

The liquid matrix consists of water and

soluble components, such as ammonia,

oxygen or nitrates. The gradient of

concentration of these components on the

surface of the biofilm draw as a result a

stratification of bacteria of the solid

matrix attached on the plastic support .

The compact system has a lamella settling tank of high performance that

allows up to a 90% of surface savings compared to conventional

equipments.

• Consists of PVC or PP modules easy to handle and of lightweight.

• Stabilized to resist the UV rays and the chemical attack.

• Increases the settling capacity per unit volume

• Low maintenance costs due to saving in power consumption.

The plant is endowed with control and

electrical protection cabinet in painted mild

steel [IP66-NEMA4/12/13-IK10]. It comprises:

• Protection devices.

• Frequency converters.

• Touchscreen TFT 5.7’’ colour display

superficialy installed, equipped with CF card for

data recording.

• Operation mode selectors.

• Modular PLC for the implementation of the

logic functions, timing, PID, operating hours

counter, etc.

Station modules are sized to accord the

dimensional regulations ISO 20 and ISO 40.

Easy to carry by truck gondola, platform and

trailer.

The grips of the structure allow lifting and positioning according to the desired configuration,

supported by rubber wedges or similar materials.
