training or racing. only with their protection and performance,

can i concentrate on my riding, give my best, and enjoy every

moment. to do this, my uvex helmet and glasses must be

light, comfortable and well-ventilated.

6 Helmet Material tests

STRAP & LOCK TEST Do the strap and buckle withstand an impact? to test its integrity a weight of 4–10 kg weight is dropped from diff erent heights onto a pretensioned strap system. only strap systems which are able to withstand such stress without being damaged are integrated into uvex helmets.

SHOCK ABSORPTION TESTDuring a fall or collision, a cyclist’s head is very vulnerable. For this reason, a helmet needs to considerably dampen the impact of a collision. in the shock absorption test uvex bike helmets must withstand a fall from a height of more than two meters in order to fulfi l our high quality requirements.

STABILITY TESTA bike helmet does not perform its task if it comes off during a collision. Stability tests conducted in our laboratory demonstrate whether a helmet has a secure fi t, even when pulled down by a weight of 10 kg.

All uvex products, including bike helmets, have to comply with strict quality and safety requirements before

they are introduced to the market. throughout the entire production process, experts at our in-house test

center constantly check to ensure compliance with the highest quality and safety standards. that is why, for

decades, uvex has been the number one choice of many of our customers: proven product quality that you can

completely rely on.

Performance and Safety – tested a hundred times

Bike helmets must comply with broad range of requirements: on the one hand, the safety

of the cyclist must be guaranteed, even in dangerous situations; on the other, the helmet

needs to meet high levels of ergonomics and wearing comfort. the materials used must

be extremely durable, yet also at the same time very light. uvex has decades of experience

in developing bike helmets and, due to its know-how, is one of the major innovation drivers

in this sector.
