Calcium Alginate Wound Dressings

Silver Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing

BIOTRONIX Healthcare’s calcium alginate dressings are derived from brown seaweed. The dressing is composed of soft, nonwoven fibers shaped as ropes (twisted fibers) or pads/strips (fibrous mats). Biotronix Healthcare’s calcium alginate dressings are absorbent and conform to the shape of a wound. When packed, an alginate interacts with wound exudates to form asoft gel that maintains a moist healing environment. The release of calcium ion can activate thrombinogen and improve hemostasis.

Biotronix Healthcare’s silver calcium alginate dressing utilizes a mix of calcium alginate with the addition of an ionic silver complex that releases silver ions in the presence of wound exudates. As exudates are absorbed, the dressing forms a soft, cohesive gel that intimately conforms to the wound surface, maintaining an optimal moist wound-healing environment.

Biotronix Healthcare’s hydrocolloid wound dressing is made of a wound contact layer of hydrocolloids and a top layer of either semi-permeable polyurethane film or polyurethane foam. On contact with wound surface, the Biotronix hydrocolloid wound dressings create a moist environment, which can reduce pain, promote the formation of granulating tissue, prohibit bacteria infection and speed up the healing process.

Biotronix Healthcare’s paraffin gauze dressing consists of cotton leno weave fabric, which has been impregnated with white soft paraffin used to dress denuded areas. It is non-adherent, non allergenic, sterilized by gamma radiation. It is soothing and enhances healing in burns, skin grafts, skin loss and lacerated wounds.

Biotronix Healthcare’s Xeroform dressings are a petrolatum blend with 3% Tribromophenate on fine mesh gauze. A comfortable, soothing non-adherent dressing which clings and conforms to the wound without sticking. A single layer provides effective coverage from contamination and inhibits the loss of body fluids
