Protecting the environment and resources.Environmental sustainability
Environmental protection will continue to grow in importance
as a result of progressive urbanization and global population
growth. These global mega-trends make the careful and sus-
tainable handling of natural resources a central challenge.
We are convinced that every individual - and especially
every company - has an ecological responsibility. At Siemens
Automation and Drives, we stand by this conviction. Our high
environmental protection goals are part of our strict environ-
mental management. We investigate the possible effects of our
products and systems on the environment right back at the de-
velopment stage. We concern ourselves, for example, with the
question of how to reduce power consumption in plant
operation - and we offer appropriate solutions, such as our

Migration to SIMATIC PCS 7
1/10 Siemens ST PCS 7.2 · July 2007
■ Overview
If a company wishes to strengthen its position in the market, it is essential to react flexibly and rapidly to new market require-ments, while keeping interruptions in current operation down to a minimum. This is the strength of the SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system from Siemens. As a corner pillar of the Totally Integrated Automation concept, SIMATIC PCS 7 constitutes a uniform complete system which surpasses the capabilities of previous systems and satisfies all demands placed on the pro-cess control technology – one control system for all industries and applications.
With SIMATIC PCS 7 we are committed to expanding the com-petitive advantages of customers throughout the complete life-cycle of their industrial plants. The SIMATIC PCS 7 process con-trol system provides advantages in the areas of:7 Integration7 Performance7 Scalability7 Modernization7 Security7 Innovation7 Global network of experts
Siemens has been offering a wide range of innovative migration products and solutions for its globally proven systems for many years already. Right from the beginning, the maxim of Siemens’ migration strategy is to modernize the existing installed basis in steps and without completely changing the system – if possible without a plant shutdown or with minimum production down-times. Siemens therefore supports customers’ endeavors to achieve long-term safeguarding of investments together with maximization of their return on assets.
Migration strategy
Globalization and incessantly increasing competitive pressures are forcing companies to continuously increase productivity and shorten product time to market. To this end, it is necessary to continuously optimize engineering procedures and the process, and to simultaneously consider new industrial requirements and directives.
Today, many systems and plants must be expanded and modernized to ensure that companies can continue to provide products meeting market requirements. However, since the in-stalled basis of hardware, application software and know-how of the operating and maintenance engineers represents an enor-mous value, the safeguarding of investments for companies op-erating the plants is always assigned a high priority during all modernization plans.
Experience has shown that the success of migration is largely determined by providing a technical solution that optimally matches the customer requirements and the customer’s plant. Minimization of the technical and financial risks together with safeguarding of investments for as long a period as possible are always fundamental aspects. The different lifecycles of the vari-ous system components must also be considered, which cur-rently vary from 5 years for PC-based workstations, 15 years for controllers, up to 25 years or more for input/output components and wiring. Therefore Siemens does not consider its task to sim-ply be the complete replacement of an existing system, but in close collaboration together with customers and their system in-tegrators of an individual, future-oriented solution based on the state-of-the-art SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system - always under the directives:7 Step-by-step system innovation7 Adaptable to the specific conditions of the plant7 Flexible according to production requirements

Portfolio of the migration products
Early on Siemens recognized the significance of migration for process automation, and for many years has offered a wide range of innovative migration products and solutions for its glo-bally proven systems. Right from the beginning, the maxim of Siemens’ migration strategy is to modernize the existing in-stalled basis in steps without completely changing the system; and where possible without or with minimal plant downtime. Siemens has the products to support customers’ endeavors to achieve long-term safeguarding of investments together with maximization of their return on assets, even for legacy systems from other vendors.
Siemens’ know-how in the migration sector has continuously grown as time has passed. The experience gained in numerous migration projects has been incorporated into new products and technologies which are even more efficient. For example, "Data-base Automation" (DBA) is available for engineering of operation and monitoring systems. Using DBA and a plug-in interface, it is possible to download the configuration data, and to display and configure them using a standardized user interface. DBA allows system-based migration of operator system data from different output systems in standardized form, thus providing uniform software quality, security and understandability.

Migration to SIMATIC PCS 7
1/12 Siemens ST PCS 7.2 · July 2007
Typical migration scenarios
The migration path that a user takes depends on the specific technical and economical factors of each migration project. The migration products offer the modularity and flexibility required to implement different scenarios. The following are typical migra-tion scenarios which can be implemented using these migration products:
Scenario 1: Replacement of existing HMI system by a SIMATIC PCS 7 operator system
If the HMI (Human Machine Interface) system is technically obsolete, if the stocking of spare parts is too expensive, if it no longer complies with current directives and standards for operator workstations, or if functional expansions are required (e.g. IT integration), it is possible to simply replace the existing HMI system by a SIMATIC PCS 7 operator system. The controller with application software and the process I/O are retained.
The benefits of these migration step are:• Minimum costs• Clear risk• Lengthening of service life of complete plant• New application possibilities• Opening of system for IT world
Scenario 2: Expansion of existing plant
The existing plant is initially retained, and is modernized by expanding with further sections/units with SIMATIC PCS 7.
The benefits of these migration step are:• Simple, step-by-step increase in production capacity• Clear risk• Introduction of new technologies (e.g. PROFIBUS fieldbus,
HMI)• Opening of system for IT world• Together with scenario 1, enables process control using a uni-
form operator system
Scenario 3: Comprehensive modernization
Bottlenecks in the provision of spare parts, insufficient support, and the necessity for functional expansions (e.g. fieldbus tech-nology or IT integration) can also force comprehensive modern-ization of the old system using the future-oriented SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system. Conversion may also be possible during operation. Further use of the existing I/O level is sup-ported, and the investments made for wiring, hardware compo-nents or application engineering are safeguarded.
The benefits of these migration step are:• Increase in performance• Introduction of new technologies (e.g. PROFIBUS fieldbus,
HMI)• Opening of system for IT world• Lengthening of service life of complete plant• Reduction in number of system suppliers• Elimination of bottlenecks

■ Overview
Configuration example of TELEPERM M migration
The TELEPERM M process control system from Siemens has proven itself worldwide in many different industry sectors in the past 25 years. More than 15,000 installed systems have proven their performance, reliability and user-friendliness in many years of service, even under extreme operating conditions.
The installed platform of the old process control system repre-sents an immense investment in hardware and application soft-ware as well as a wealth of valuable and complex know-how ac-cumulated by operating and maintenance personnel.
However, many users are now faced with the need to adapt their production operations to market requirements, which means having to expand or modernize their plants.
SIMATIC PCS 7, the modern process control system, offers new plants and plant expansions an open platform for modern, for-ward-looking and economical automation solutions in all indus-tries.
The objective of the migration is to modernize the existing plat-form step-by-step without changing the system, and at the same time to guarantee past investments for as long as possible. For this purpose, Siemens has been offering optimized migration so-lutions for the transition from TELEPERM M to SIMATIC PCS 7 for a number of years already. The range of migration products cov-ers hardware and software components as well as services for converting application software, on-site conversions, and the migration of complete systems.
At the beginning, TELEPERM M customers primarily chose the step-by-step modernization and functional expansion of individ-ual components of the existing systems:• Replacement of existing automation systems by future-com-
patible automation systems under the premise of importing existing application software and TELEPERM M I/O
• Replacement of operation and monitoring systems by opera-tor systems on the basis of SIMATIC PCS 7
• Integration of the distributed SIMATIC process I/Os
Nowadays, direct migration of TELEPERM M to SIMATIC PCS 7 is dominate. Customers are selecting the full range of SIMATIC system components, which have been proven worldwide. They therefore profit on the one hand from the valuable properties of a modern process control system and the synergy effects pro-vided by Totally Integrated Automation (TIA). At the same time, they are provided with the possibility for continued use of the ex-isting TELEPERM M I/Os. Siemens supports this trend by means of new migration products as well as optimized services (some of which are supported by in-house tools) for hardware and soft-ware conversion.

Migration services
For a migration project to succeed it is not enough just to have a technical solution that is optimally adapted to the customer’s needs and the individual conditions of the plant in question. Equally important is the fast and punctual implementation of this solution at a high level of quality.
We thus offer you services from one source for the complete mi-gration of your plant or for single phases of the migration pro-cess, e.g. AS conversion with retention of the TELEPERM M I/Os or substitution of the operator systems incl. conversion of your user software.
Our migration specialists are familiar with the systems technol-ogy behind TELEPERM M and SIMATIC PCS 7 and have many years of experience in engineering, commissioning and service. They will inform you about the migration options available, ana-lyze your plant, provide you with individual consulting and, fi-nally, draw up a detailed quotation for your migration project.
Short stoppage times call for exact planning, which is why our migration specialists join you in organizing and coordinating the smooth performance of all the activities itemized in the quota-tion.
The user software represents a large portion of the total invest-ment and know-how. Hence the quality of its conversion into the new system world is a key criterion for a migration’s economic ef-ficiency. We provide you with fast and reliable conversion of your user software for use on the new SIMATIC PCS 7 system plat-form. In doing so we make allowance for sector-specific proper-ties as well as special plant solutions. As a result of the modern tools that we developed ourselves, you profit from software of constant quality, reliability and verifiability. All the conversion steps performed are documented, as are the manual reconfigu-rations occasionally required.
Finally, we will draw up detailed documentation of your plant as soon as the re-start is completed. We even see to the proper dis-posal of any replaced system components.

2Dual-channel operation
The previously mentioned basic hardware as server (SIMATIC PCS 7 Industrial Workstation with BCE or SIMATIC PCS 7/TM-OS Server IL 43 BCE SRV03), together with the associated ex-pansion components typical for servers, already fulfill all require-ments for dual-channel operation of the PCS 7/TM-OS. No addi-tional hardware/software components are required.
Interfacing to the SIMATIC PCS 7 Industrial Ethernet plant bus can also be implemented via CP 1613 as an alternative to BCE communication. The CP 1613 interfacing is only required for communication with more than 8 automation systems and when using fault-tolerant automation systems.
Basic devices with BCE communication can be subsequently upgraded to CP 1613 communication. In addition to the CP 1613 module, you require either the S7-1613 communica-tions software or S7-REDCONNECT for communication with fault-tolerant automation systems (see also Catalog ST PCS 7, Chapter "Operator System", Sections "OS hardware" and "Re-dundant operator systems").
■ Function
PCS 7/TM-OS V4.0 coupling package
With the PCS 7/TM-OS coupling package it is possible for the operator systems to exchange information with automation sys-tems on the CS 275 plant bus. The coupling package contains a bus-specific channel DLL and a TM Manager. The channel DLL adapts the TELEPERM M message frames to the OS-specific data structures and procedures by converting the protocol. The TM Manager is a configuration assistant that supports the follow-ing configuration functions:
ORPA Import
The ORPA Import function creates structured variables in the op-erator system for TELEPERM M standard and user blocks in ac-cordance with the AS data defined in the PROGRAF AS+/NT configuration tool. The selection of parameters to be imported can be modified using filters and a dialog box.
Block Import
The Block Import function creates (in the operator system) block instances of the block types defined in PROGRAF AS+/NT for TELEPERM M standard and user blocks. The selection of pa-rameters to be imported can be modified using filters and a dia-log box.
Connection Import
The Connection Import function generates connections in the TELEPERM M channel CS 275. It can be defined whether status signals and plain text messages are to be transmitted, and whether loading onto the corresponding automation system is to be carried out.
Message Generator
The Message Generator function determines the block in-stances which were imported into the operator system and gen-erates messages for these in the AlarmLogging. The message texts can be parameterized. Message class and message type can be defined bit-specifically for MKS blocks.
Batch Import
The Batch Import function prepares the data for the internal data of SIMATIC BATCH. SIMATIC BATCH can then communicate with the interface blocks in TELEPERM M automation systems in the same manner as with SIMATIC PCS 7 automation systems.
The "PCS 7/TM-OS coupling package for AS 23x/AS x88" can be used for the following systems:• AS 215• AS 230, AS 230 K• AS 235, AS 235 K, AS 235 H• AS 388/TM, AS 488/TM• SIMATIC S5-150U/S5-155U
Coupling package upgrade to PCS 7/TM-OS V4.0
An upgrade package that also includes the PCS 7/TM-OCX pro-gram package is available to upgrade existing WinCC/TM V1.0x or PCS 7/TM-OS V2.x and V3.x coupling packages. One up-grade package is required for each PCS 7/TM-OS single station system, operator terminal or server. The Order No. of the up-grade must be selected according to the installed platform (type of PCS 7/TM-OS coupling package and/or PCS 7/TM-OCX (NORA) program package).
PCS 7/TM-OCX (NORA) V4.0 program package
Faceplate (here for the RN block) in the TELEPERM M NORA display (left) and the PCS 7 layout (right)
The PCS 7/TM-OCX (NORA) program package comprises:• Faceplates for the standardized display of operable
TELEPERM M AS function blocks in various hierarchy levels (symbol display/group display/loop display)
• Faceplates for the visualization of PCS 7 driver blocks of the TELEPERM M I/Os
The faceplates for the AS standard function blocks are compa-rable with the standardized displays of the TELEPERM M OS 525 operator system or with the SIMATIC PCS 7 faceplates. They are of multi-lingual design, i.e. the user can choose be-tween the languages German, English and French. The related electronic documentation is supplied on CD in German and En-glish.
The process connection is made by linking the faceplate to the AS standard function block. The Object Control ActiveX (OCX) interactive graphics element performs the logic operation with the process variables.
As a result, the PCS7/TM-OCX (NORA) program package not only makes the configuration of pictures easier, it also does much to simplify and speed up the entire OS configuration pro-cess.
For some AS standard function blocks the PCS 7/TM-OCX (NORA) program package offers not only faceplates in the TELEPERM M NORA presentation but also faceplates in the PCS 7 layout. Both faceplate types can be used simultaneously on the same computer. However, you can use the displays of only one block type for the function "Select display using measuring point".

2OS Engineering bundle for TELEPERM M migration
The following components are offered as a low-cost preferred version in the form of the bundle "OS Engineering for TELEPERM M Migration": • PCS 7/TM-OS coupling package for AS 23x/AS x88• SIMATIC PCS 7 Engineering Software AS/OS for unlimited
POs, incl. AS Runtime license for 600 POs
The benefits are felt above all by customers who are using a PCS 7/TM-OS operator system for the first time and need to cre-ate the necessary engineering conditions to do so.
If required, the number of configurable process objects and vari-ables can be increased further by means of add-on PCS 7 Engi-neering PowerPacks.
The bundle "OS Engineering for TELEPERM M Migration" can be used together with the SIMATIC PCS 7/TM-OS Server IL 43 BCE SRV03, the PROGRAF AS+/NT program package and op-tional PCS 7 Engineering Software PowerPacks to configure an AS/OS Engineering Station for all subsystems networked by the TELEPERM M CS 275 plant bus and the SIMATIC PCS 7 Indus-trial Ethernet plant bus.
The bus interfaces for the TELEPERM M CS 275 plant bus, the PCS 7 Industrial Ethernet plant bus and the OS-LAN (terminal bus) are already integrated in the SIMATIC PCS 7/TM-OS Server IL 43 BCE SRV03.
Intelligent alarm management
The PCS 7/TM-OS coupling packages V4.0 support the intelli-gent alarm management function of the SIMATIC PCS 7 operator system V7.0. By means of intelligent alarm management, mes-sages which are of little importance for safe and fault-free plant operation during specific plant statuses can be visually and au-dibly hidden. These messages are still logged and archived as before. This saves a noticeable amount of work for the operators. Insignificant messages can be hidden in two ways:• Dynamically, i.e. depending on preconfigured definition for up
to 32 operating states (Smart Alarm Hiding)• Manually, with time limit.
In the case of Smart Alarm Hiding, the status (commissioning, startup, service, etc.) of the plant section is transferred to PCS 7/TM-OS by means of a new function block "SRAH" (Status Representation for Alarm Hiding) and its status message. Mes-sages which are irrelevant for the operator are then hidden there depending on this status of the plant section.
The new function block for AS 23x and AS x88/TM with the fixed type name SRAH is a user block which can be downloaded to the corresponding automation system during operation. It is supplied on the software CD of PCS 7/TM-OS V4.0.
■ Integration
Connecting systems with TELEPERM M basic functions to SIMATIC BATCH V7.0
Using the PCS 7/TM-OS coupling packages it is possible to con-nect AS 23x or AS 488/TM automation systems, whose func-tional process areas are automated with GF blocks of the basic functions program package in version V1.3 and lower (6DS5305-8AA; released for delivery in 08/89), to SIMATIC BATCH V7.0. Connection takes place through the UNIB, TR1B and EM1B interface blocks, which are inserted in the AS struc-ture. It can only be implemented with client/server-based multi-user systems, single-user systems (Single Stations) are not suit-able. The interface blocks enable SIMATIC BATCH to dock on in order to forward modes of operation, setpoints and phase change commands to the basic function, and to read its status.
The dual-channel functionality of the operator system also sup-ports connection to SIMATIC BATCH, i.e. plant units can be used by different systems within a recipe. It is irrelevant for the recipe whether a plant unit is on a SIMATIC PCS 7 automation system or on a TELEPERM M automation system. This is a great advan-tage particularly with plant expansions.
Converting existing user software

ES/OS connection to CS 275 plant bus
2/10 Siemens ST PCS 7.2 · July 2007
2
■ Overview
Through connection to the TELEPERM M CS 275 plant bus, PCS 7/TM-OS operator systems and engineering systems with PROGRAF AS+/NT have access to all types of the following au-tomation systems of an existing TELEPERM M plant:• AS 230, AS 235, AS 488/TM• S5-150U, S5-155U
Characteristic features of the CS 275 bus architecture:• Participants within a local range or a cabinet group are con-
nected together at distances up to 20 m by means of the 20-m local bus.
• The transition from the 20-m local bus to the remote bus is made using inductive bus converters UI.
• Up to 9 participants (each UI counts as 1 participant) can be connected into a local bus island using the 20-m local bus.
• The remote bus combines distributed systems/local bus is-lands over distances up to 4 km.
• The local bus is redundant as standard, a redundant design for the remote bus is optional.
There are various possibilities for connecting the ES/OS systems to the CS 275 plant bus (see design) depending on the respec-tive initial situation and on the type and scope of migration project.
■ Design
The following picture and the associated product overview show the basic possibilities for the CS 275 connection of the ES/OS systems as well as the connection components required in each case.
The N-PCI interface module acting as the CS 275 interface is al-ready integrated when using the SIMATIC PCS 7/TM-OS server for the ES/OS system. If a different ES/OS basic unit is used in-stead of this server, the N-PCI must be ordered in addition and subsequently installed there.
The current N-PCI interface module is suitable for a PCI bus sig-nal voltage of 3.3 V and 5 V. It can be used with • PCS 7/TM-OS V3.1 SP1 and later and • PROGRAF AS+/NT V4.03 and later.
The N-PCI module requires an N-PCI driver V1.4 and later, which belongs to the scope of delivery of PCS 7/TM-OS with V3.1 SP1 and later.

■ Overview
The process I/Os of existing plants with their extensive wiring and routing, large stock of I/O modules, power supply units, cabinets and sometimes Ex isolating devices represent, to-gether with the plant’s documentation and the maintenance per-sonnel’s know-how, a highly valuable asset. Siemens therefore offers plant owners the possibility to preserve and use these re-sources for as long as possible.
They are supported in this endeavor in excellent manner by the PCS 7/TM-EA migration package and by the services which are offered in this connection for the on-site conversion of the AS as well as implementation of the user’s TELEPERM M automation system structure in a SIMATIC PCS 7 structure.
The PCS 7/TM-EA migration package combines a SIMATIC PCS 7 automation system with the components required for in-terfacing the TELEPERM I/Os in an MIG II migration rack. This rack offers 5 additional slots for TELEPERM I/O modules, and re-places the rack with the CPU in the TELEPERM M basic cabinet of the automation system to be migrated.
The SIMATIC PCS 7 automation system needs suitable driver blocks in order to address the TELEPERM I/O modules. A library with these driver blocks and an S7 object manager for the hard-ware configuration in HW-Config are supplied with the PCS 7/TM-EA migration package.
The different versions of the PCS 7/TM-EA migration package are referred to below as AS 414-3 TM-EA, AS 416-2 TM-EA, AS 416-3 TM-EA and AS 417-4 TM-EA depending on the type of automation system.
The interface module for connecting to the Industrial Ethernet plant bus already belongs to the basic configuration for each of these automation systems.

■ Overview
SIMATIC PCS 7 plant sections on the Industrial Ethernet plant bus can be linked perfectly with existing TELEPERM M plant sections on the CS 275 plant bus by a combination of the PCS7/TM-OS operator system with dual-channel functionality and GT104CS gateway. This combination enables the communi-cation load to be distributed evenly over the plant bus. While the PCS7/TM-OS operator system with its dual-channel functionality takes over the AS-OS communication with the automation sys-tems on both CS 275 plant buses and Industrial Ethernet, as well as the clock synchronization for the TELEPERM M plant section, the inter-plant bus AS-AS communication is processed via the GT104CS gateway.
The gateway behaves like a virtual automation system.
In connection with the GT104CS gateway, the automation sys-tems AS 488/TM, AS 235, AS 230 and AS 220 can be used on the TELEPERM M side. The gateway has a bus and node ad-dress on the TELEPERM M CS 275 plant bus, via which the cy-clic data can be exchanged with as many as 32 automation sys-tems on the SIMATIC PCS 7 Industrial Ethernet plant bus (TCP/IP protocol). The communication is configured in the participating function blocks of the TELEPERM M and SIMATIC PCS 7 auto-mation systems and can also be performed online. Once the connection is set up, the gateway couples the configured trans-mission and reception blocks.
■ Function
The Gateway GT104CS is capable of processing the cyclic data exchange between the TELEPERM M automation systems on the plant bus CS 275 and up to 32 SIMATIC PCS 7 automation sys-tems on the Industrial Ethernet plant bus.
The CPU of a SIMATIC PCS 7 automation system can process transmitted or received data of at least 10 AKS- + 10 AKE- + 10 BKS- + 10 BKE-blocks in a 1s cycle. This corresponds to 280 analog values and 1280 binary values per second in each communication direction.
■ Configuration
At the GT104CS gateway, the bus and bus node address are to be set on the plant bus CS 275 by means of DIP switches. For communication with the SIMATIC PCS 7 automation system, the gateway requires only a few parameters (IP address). The con-nection between the SIMATIC PCS 7 automation systems and the gateway is configured using the SIMATIC Manager.
The necessary configuration work for this is minimal. For the SIMATIC PCS 7 automation systems, function blocks for the TELEPERM M standard functions AKS, BKS, AKE and BKE are also supplied, as well as a central communications block TM_LINK.
By means of the TM_LINK communications block and the GT104CS gateway, the AKS, BKS, AKE and BKE blocks of the SIMATIC PCS 7 automation systems communicate with the AKS, BKS, AKE and BKE blocks in the TELEPERM M automation sys-tems, which are assigned by addressing. The function block TM_LINK uses the S7 system functions USEND and URECV in-ternally for communication with the gateway.

■ Overview
Configuration example of APACS+ migration
The APACS+ process control system has been used success-fully world-wide for over 10 years. Its functionality, reliability and user-friendliness have been demonstrated in more than 10,000 installed systems. Migration of the process control sys-tem based on APACS+/QUADLOG controllers with the innova-tive SIMATIC PCS 7 OS operation and monitoring systems from Siemens provides the opportunity for retaining proven functions and for significantly increasing the functionality and perfor-mance at the same time through specific modernization. With its open system platform, SIMATIC PCS 7 provides an ideal basis for modern, future-oriented and economical automation solu-tions in all sectors.
Depending on the plant size, the hardware and user software of an installed APACS+ system represent a considerable invest-ment and, together with the process knowledge of the operating and maintenance personnel, an enormous value. To preserve and expand an APACS+ system and to increase its value, Siemens developed a migration strategy which aims to modern-ize existing operator and engineering systems with SIMATIC PCS 7 while retaining the APACS+/QUADLOG controllers and the lower-lying I/O level. With this strategy, customers can mi-grate their existing systems efficiently and economically without having to replace any controllers, I/O devices or their wiring, and without rendering the associated investment in system configu-ration useless. In addition, excellent alternatives are provided at the controller level by the AS 41x of SIMATIC PCS 7, especially with plant expansions. These are supported by the controller-controller communication via Industrial Ethernet Modules (IEM) and by PCS 7/APACS+ operator systems which can communi-cate with both APACS+/QUADLOG controllers and AS 41x by dual-channel.
Through the migration to SIMATIC PCS 7, the customers of APACS+ also profit from the numerous advantages provided by Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) and the facilities already pro-vided by the system for integration into the corporate information network. These include integration of the SIMATIC IT Manage-ment Execution System as well as monitoring via the World Wide Web or OPC data exchange with IT applications.
In addition to the above-mentioned technical aspects, future compatibility is also an important argument in favor of APACS+ migration. This is achieved through Siemens investment in con-tinuous product development and long-term, global servicing for its range of SIMATIC products.

1) The standard OS client of SIMATIC PCS 7 is used to expand PCS 7/APACS+ client/server architectures.
Multi-client and dual-channel functionalities
Data from different systems can be viewed in one process dis-play on the OS clients, both from APACS+/QUADLOG control-lers on the MBUS and from SIMATIC PCS 7 automation systems on the Industrial Ethernet.
This is possible because of the multi-client architecture of the operator systems, through which a client can call data from dif-ferent servers.
The PCS 7/APACS+ OS Server is provided with dual-channel functionality to support the expansion needs of smaller systems. In this case, a single server implements communication with both systems via two Channel DLLs.

PCS 7/APACS+ OS DBA V6.1
Database Automation (DBA) tool for generation of the PCS 7 OS data-base
A core component for the PCS 7/APACS+ OS Engineering is the Database Automation PCS 7/APACS+ OS DBA. This automati-cally generates the OS database with the display hierarchy, re-quired variables, alarm signals and alarm priorities as well as the specific block symbols and faceplates from the data of the APACS+/QUADLOG controllers. The display hierarchy is the ba-sis for navigation between the process displays and for alarm management. PCS 7/APACS+ OS DBA automatically positions the type-specific block symbols, e.g. for controllers or analog in-puts (AI), in the generated process displays. These block sym-bols are linked to the associated function blocks and faceplates through the database. Manual configuration is mainly limited to the design and positioning of the static graphic elements, e.g. tubes or tanks.

OPC engineering plug-in
An additional component in DBA enables engineering of OPC connections to any third-party systems, e.g. for interfacing Allen-Bradley controllers. In addition to process values, this can be used to also integrate messages and alarms from third-party systems into the PCS 7 OS database. Analogous to APACS+, the OPC component supports automatic generation of the OS plant hierarchy as well as positioning of the corresponding block symbols. The engineering overhead for integrating third-party systems can thus be drastically reduced.

■ Overview
The software packs PCS 7/APACS+ OS offered for migration of APACS+ operator systems are tailored to the architecture of the SIMATIC PCS 7 operator system. They support single-user sys-tems (Single Stations) as well as multi-user systems with up to 12 servers/redundant pairs of servers and up to 32 clients.
A PCS 7/APACS+ plant configuration with controllers, engineer-ing system and operator system can be expanded by batch cli-ents and batch servers for automation of batch processes using SIMATIC BATCH. Batch clients and OS clients can be operated together on one PCS 7 basic device or on separate basic de-vices. Batch servers are usually set up on a separate PCS 7 ba-sic device, i.e. separate from the OS server.
Note:You can find information on the product range and the advanced func-tions of SIMATIC BATCH in Catalog ST PCS 7, chapter "Batch automa-tion".
■ Design
The following software components are required depending on the configuration of a PCS 7/APACS+ operator system as single station or client/server combination (single or redundant):
PowerPacks for upgrading the above-mentioned Runtime li-censes, as well as further software for PCS 7/APACS+ operator systems can be ordered in the Catalog ST PCS 7, Chapter "Or-dering data of previous version V6.1", Section "OS software V6.1".
Appropriate basic hardware for configuration of an operator sta-tion as a PCS 7/APACS+ OS Single Station, PCS 7/APACS+ OS Server or PCS 7/APACS+ Client can be found in Catalog ST PCS 7 in the same chapter, Section "Basic hardware V6.1".
Communication for PCS 7/APACS+ OS usually takes place over Industrial Ethernet in conjunction with the Industrial Ethernet Module IEM (see last part of this chapter). In the case of small configurations with a small expansion, a PCS 7/APACS+ OS sta-tion can also be directly linked to an APACS+ MBUS segment by means of a PCI plug-in card.

PCS 7/APACS+ OS Packs (Single Station/Server/Redundant Server)
The PCS 7/APACS+ OS Packs contain:• PCS 7 OS Software Runtime (2000 POs/64K variables, incl.
512 archive variables) • APACS+ OS Channel for communication with the
APACS+/QUADLOG controllers • Library with PCS 7/APACS+ OS symbols and OS faceplates • WinCC/Redundancy and RS 232 connecting cable, 10 m
(only redundant OS Server)
The APACS+ OS Channel DLL implements reliable communica-tion with the APACS+/QUADLOG controllers using a native con-troller connection SIMATIC PCS 7 driver, and simultaneously permits communication with the AS 41x controllers by dual-channel. It supports the Industrial Ethernet interfacing via the CP 1613 communications processor as well as the connection to the MBUS of APACS+ via Industrial Ethernet and IEM.
The PCS 7/APACS+ OS symbols and faceplates developed in line with the SIMATIC PCS 7 standard take into account the spe-cial properties of the APACS+/QUADLOG controllers.
PCS 7/APACS+ SIMATIC BATCH Runtime license
Together with the APACS+ OS Server Channel DLL, the PCS 7/APACS+ SIMATIC BATCH Runtime license allows ex-change of runtime information between SIMATIC BATCH and an APACS+/QUADLOG controller. SIMATIC BATCH servers always communicate with the APACS+/QUADLOG controllers by means of a PCS 7/APACS+ OS Server. Therefore a PCS 7/APACS+ SIMATIC BATCH Runtime license is required for each PCS 7/APACS+ OS Server which exchanges data with SIMATIC BATCH.

Industrial Ethernet Module (IEM)
3/10 Siemens ST PCS 7.2 · July 2007

■ Overview
The Industrial Ethernet Module (IEM) is a flexible communica-tions router for APACS+/QUADLOG Systems. The IEM supports the following three architectures:• Peer-to-Peer communications between ACM/CCM and
S7-41x controllersThe IEM provides an interface between the MBUS of APACS+/QUADLOG Systems and the Industrial Ethernet plant bus of SIMATIC PCS 7.
• Peer-to-Peer communications between ACM/CCM control-lers on different MBUS segmentsCommunication function blocks are provided to allow passing the following APACS+ data types between controllers:- REAL- BOOLEAN- WORD
• MBUS-to-Ethernet communications translation for APACS+/QUADLOG systemsThe IEM can be used as a replacement for the RNI (Rack-Mounted Network Interface) used in existing systems. Using standard MBUS communications, OS Engineering/OS Single Stations/OS Servers must be installed within 168 m of the APACS+/QUADLOG rack. The IEM therefore can be used in system architectures that exceed this distance limit.
The use of redundant IEM's is supported, thereby supporting system architectures requiring higher system availabilities.
Note:Fail-safe communication is not currently available for the QUADLOG con-trollers (available soon).
Any USB flash memory medium (min. 1 MB) is required in addi-tion for the IEM configuration, e.g. SIMATIC PC USB-FlashDrive.

■ Overview
Configuration example of migration of SIMATIC PCS/TISTAR systems
Very many SIMATIC PCS / TISTAR systems are installed world-wide. These systems represent a wealth of hardware, user soft-ware and process knowledge accumulated by operating and maintenance personnel. To preserve the installed PCS/TISTAR platforms and add to their value, Siemens developed a migration strategy on the basis of the innovative SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system which aims to modernize existing operator and engineering systems while retaining the 505 controllers and the lower-lying I/O level. With this strategy, customers can migrate their existing systems efficiently and economically without hav-ing to replace any controllers, I/O devices or their wiring, and without rendering the associated investment in system configu-ration useless. Since client/server-based PCS 7/505 operator systems can communicate per double channel both with 505 controllers and SIMATIC PCS 7 AS 41x controllers, they nev-ertheless remain flexible, and provide exceptional alternatives especially for plant expansions.
Through migration with SIMATIC PCS 7 Engineering and Opera-tor Systems it is possible to significantly increase the functional-ity and efficiency of process control systems based on 505 controllers. And customers benefit in addition from continu-ous further development, long-term global support and the man-ifold advantages to be gained from TIA (Totally Integrated Auto-mation) and SIMATIC IT. This protects existing investments, provides security for the future and increases plant productivity.

Multi-client and dual-channel functionalities
Data from different systems can be viewed in one process dis-play on the OS clients, both from 505 controllers on the Ethernet SINEC H1 TF and from SIMATIC PCS 7 automation systems on the Industrial Ethernet.
This is possible because of the multi-client architecture of the operator systems, through which a client can call data from dif-ferent servers.
In a smaller system architecture, it is also possible to use a PCS 7/505 OS Server with dual-channel functionality. In this case, a single server implements communication with both sys-tems via two Channel DLLs.

PCS 7/505 OS DBA V6.1
A core component for the PCS 7/505 OS Engineering is the Database Automation PCS 7/505 OS DBA. This component au-tomatically generates the OS database with the display hierar-chy, required variables, interrupts, alarm signals and alarm pri-orities as well as the specific block symbols and faceplates from the user software of the controller. The display hierarchy is the basis for navigation between the process displays, for alarm management, and for implementing security measures. PCS 7/505 OS DBA automatically places the type-specific block symbols, e.g. controller or analog input(AI), in the generated process displays. These symbols are linked to the correspond-ing function blocks and faceplates through the database. Man-ual configuration is mainly limited to the design and positioning of the static graphic elements, e.g. tubes or tanks.

■ Overview
Configuration example of migration of OpenPMC systems
A large number of OpenPMC systems have been installed worldwide. These systems represent a wealth of hardware, user software and know-how accumulated by operating and mainte-nance personnel. In order to retain the installed OpenPMC sys-tems and to increase their value, Siemens has developed an ef-fective migration strategy based on the innovative SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system. This strategy allows OpenPMC customers to replace their existing systems by state-of-the-art SIMATIC PCS 7 systems, with continued use of their OpenPMC controllers and the installed field technology. At the same time, customers can use SIMATIC PCS 7 AS 41x controllers and SIMATIC process I/Os for plant expansions.
When migrating Siemens OpenPMC systems with SIMATIC PCS 7 V7.0, existing OpenPMC operator stations (SIMATIC IT Historian Server and Clients) are replaced by SIMATIC PCS 7 operator systems (Single Stations or Client/Server systems). The OS Single Stations and the OS Servers of such PCS 7/OPMC op-erator systems can be operated in redundant or individual mode. The OPC server of SIMATIC IT Historian is used for data exchange between OpenPMC controllers and PCS 7/OPMC servers.
The Database Automation (DBA) software is used for engineer-ing of the PCS 7/OPMC operator systems. The data source for DBA is the SIMATIC IT Historian Management Console, which is still used to configure the OpenPMC controllers.

The PCS 7/OPMC OS Engineering Pack software V7.0 is re-quired in order to configure a PCS 7/OPMC operator station. This software package comprises the following components: • SIMATIC PCS 7 Engineering Software for OS V7.0, unlim-
ited POs(see Section "ES software" in Chapter "Engineering System" in Catalog ST PCS 7 V7.0, issue March 2007)
• PCS 7/OPMC OS DBA V7.0Database Engineering Package for migration of user data. Contains examples of OpenPMC OS faceplates for use with SIMATIC PCS 7.
• Defined Type Editor / Defined Type Instance EditorFor generation of templates and instances of user function block data structures
The SIMATIC IT Historian V6.1 SP1 OPC server is not included in this package.
The Faceplate Designer which is included in the SIMATIC PCS 7 Engineering Software is used to generate the OS faceplates.
Additional Engineering Software packages can be ordered in the Section "ES Software" in the Chapter "Engineering System" of Catalog ST PCS 7, March 2007, and can be installed on an En-gineering Station.
Appropriate basic hardware for a PCS 7/OPMC Engineering Sta-tion can be found in Catalog ST PCS 7, issue March 2007, in Chapter "Engineering System", Section "ES hardware".
PCS 7/OPMC OS DBA V7.0
This OS Engineering package contains the Database Automa-tion software. OpenPMC does not possess standard symbols, faceplates and tag structures. With OpenPMC projects, these objects are created by the users themselves. The Database Au-tomation software is used to map the project specific tag struc-tures in OpenPMC to equivalent SIMATIC PCS 7 tag structures.
PCS 7/OPMC OS DBA contains three example symbols, face-plates and tag structure types with which planning engineers can learn how to generate the symbol and faceplates libraries as well as the tag structures required for their projects.
Once the SIMATIC PCS 7 tag structures have been configured using the Database Automation software and SIMATIC PCS 7 symbol and faceplate libraries have been created using the PCS 7 Graphics Designer, the Database Automation software automatically generates the SIMATIC PCS 7 OS database with the display hierarchy, required variables, interrupts, alarm sig-nals and alarm priorities as well as the specific block symbols and faceplates. The display hierarchy is the basis for navigation between the process displays, for alarm management, and for implementing security measures. PCS 7/OPMC OS DBA auto-matically places the type-specific block symbols, e.g. controller or analog input, in the generated process displays. These sym-bols are linked to the corresponding function blocks and face-plates through the database. Manual configuration is mainly lim-ited to the design and positioning of the static graphic elements, e.g. tubes or tanks.

■ Overview
Configuration example of migration of Bailey INFI 90/NET 90 systems
Many of the globally installed process control systems, for exam-ple the Bailey INFI 90, are approaching the end of their lifecycle. These control systems must be modernized, since certain com-ponents are obsolete or can no longer be repaired. Since these installed systems represent an enormous value with regard to hardware, user software and the process knowledge of the operating and maintenance personnel, it is frequently preferred to carry out step-by-step migration instead of a complete rip-out and replace procedure.
The migration strategy developed by Siemens on the basis of the innovative SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system supports many different types of migration scenarios, thus minimizing the investment requirements for an individual automation project. The functionality and performance of an existing system can be significantly increased by modernizing with a SIMATIC PCS 7 operator station. The controller and the subordinate I/O level are retained. At the same time, it is also possible to use SIMATIC PCS 7 AS 41x controllers and SIMATIC process I/Os for plant ex-pansions.
Using its universal migration technology "Database Automation" (DBA), Siemens is not only able to migrate its own process con-trol systems, but is additionally able to offer matching migration solutions for systems from other vendors, e.g. for systems from ABB or Emerson.
When migrating Bailey INFI 90/NET 90 systems with SIMATIC PCS 7 V6.1, existing "Bailey consoles" are replaced by operator systems (Single Stations or Client/Server systems) based on SIMATIC PCS 7 V6.1. Existing Bailey controller configurations re-main unchanged. The OS Single Stations and the OS Servers of such PCS 7/90 operator systems can be operated in redundant or individual mode. The Bailey Plant Loop/INFI-NET is con-nected in each case to a PCS 7/90 Operator Station (Single Sta-tion/Server) via a Computer Interface Unit (CIU) with serial RS 232 or SCSI interface.
The Database Automation (DBA) software is used for engineer-ing of the PCS 7/90 OS stations. The data source for DBA is the Bailey Engineering Workstation with Composer or WinTools.

■ Overview
SIMATIC PCS 7 migration architecture with ABB Freelance and SIMATIC PCS 7
Many of the globally installed process control systems, for exam-ple the ABB Freelance, are approaching the end of their useful service life. These control systems must be modernized, since certain components are obsolete or can no longer be repaired. Since these installed systems represent an enormous value with regard to hardware, user software and know-how of the operat-ing and maintenance personnel, it is frequently preferred to carry out step-by-step migration instead of a complete rip-out and replace procedure.
The migration strategy developed by Siemens on the basis of the innovative SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system supports many different types of migration scenarios, depending on the economic specifications of the respective automation project. In most cases, the functionality and performance of the existing system can be significantly improved if the old HMI system and its engineering are replaced by state-of-the-art SIMATIC PCS 7 products. The controller, the subordinate I/O level and the wiring are retained with this type of solution. At the same time, it is also possible to use SIMATIC PCS 7 AS 41x controllers and SIMATIC process I/Os for plant expansions.
Using its universal migration technology "Database Automation" (DBA), Siemens is not only able to migrate its own process con-trol systems, but is additionally able to offer matching migration solutions for systems from other vendors, e.g. for systems from ABB or Emerson.
When migrating ABB Freelance systems with SIMATIC PCS 7 V7.0, existing "Freelance consoles" (DigiVis) are replaced by SIMATIC PCS 7 operator systems (Single Stations or Client/Server systems). The OS Single Stations and the OS Servers of such PCS 7/F2K operator systems can be oper-ated in redundant or individual mode. In all cases, the Freelance controllers are connected to a PCS 7/F2K operator station via TCP/IP Ethernet. The standard OPC gateway of Freelance 2000 is used for data exchange between Freelance controllers and PCS 7/F2K OS stations. This supports redundancy and correct time tagging for alarms and events through a very high perfor-mance and comprehensive diagnostics functions.
The Database Automation (DBA) software is used for engineer-ing of the PCS 7/F2K OS stations. The data source for DBA is the Freelance Engineering Workstation (e.g. Control Builder F).

Manual configura-tion is mainly limited to the design and positioning of the static graphic elements, e.g. tubes or tanks.
The PCS 7/F2K OS symbols, faceplates and diagnostics dis-plays created in line with the SIMATIC PCS 7 standard take into account the special properties of the Freelance AC 800F con-trollers. An example of the added value of the F2K OS faceplate is the CCS controller block. This permits, among other functions, access to the controller parameters.
The powerful "Defined Type Editor / Defined Type Instance Edi-tor" permits generation of templates and instances of user blocks (with Freelance, the so-called user function blocks). The associated symbols and faceplates are created using the SIMATIC PCS 7 standard OS configuration tools (Graphics De-signer and Faceplate Designer). The block types of the Freelance user function blocks are treated by DBA in the same manner as block types already included in the standard scope of functions as listed in the table.
The following table shows the currently supported types of Freelance blocks. Each type contains at least one symbol and one faceplate.
More block types for Freelance standard blocks will be available soon.

■ Overview
SIMATIC PCS 7 migration architecture with Emerson PROVOX systems and SIMATIC PCS 7
Many of the globally installed process control systems are ap-proaching the end of their useful service life. These control sys-tems must be modernized, since certain components are obso-lete or can no longer be repaired. Since these systems represent an enormous value with regard to hardware, user software and the process knowledge of the operating and maintenance per-sonnel, it is frequently preferred to carry out step-by-step migra-tion instead of a complete rip-out and replace procedure.
The migration strategy developed by Siemens on the basis of the innovative SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system supports many different types of migration scenarios, depending on the economic specifications of the respective automation project. In most cases, the functionality and performance of the existing system can be significantly improved if existing HMI systems and their engineering are replaced by state-of-the-art SIMATIC PCS 7 products. The controller, the subordinate I/O level and the wiring are retained with this type of solution. At the same time, it is also possible to use SIMATIC PCS 7 AS 41x controllers and SIMATIC process I/Os for plant expansions.
Using its universal migration technology "Database Automation" (DBA), Siemens is not only able to migrate its own process con-trol systems, but is additionally able to offer matching migration solutions for systems from other vendors, e.g. for the PROVOX system from Emerson.
When migrating Emerson-Fisher PROVOX systems with SIMATIC PCS 7 V7.0, existing "PROVOX consoles" are replaced by SIMATIC PCS 7 operator systems (Single Stations or Client/Server systems). The OS Single Stations and the OS Servers of such PCS 7/PVX operator systems can be oper-ated in redundant or individual mode. The PROVOX controllers on a PROVOX Data Highway are always connected via a com-munications gateway HDL to a PCS 7/PVX operator station. Data exchange between PROVOX controllers and PCS 7/PVX OS stations is carried out via standard OPCs.
The Database Automation (DBA) software is used for engineer-ing of the PCS 7/PVX OS stations. The data source for DBA is the PROVOX Engineering Workstation (e.g. Envox).

Multi-client and dual-channel functionalities
Data from different systems can be viewed in one process dis-play on the OS clients, both from PROVOX controllers on the PROVOX Data Highway and from SIMATIC PCS 7 automation systems on the Industrial Ethernet.
This is possible because of the multi-client architecture of the operator systems, through which a client can call data from dif-ferent servers.
With smaller systems, it is also possible to use a PCS 7/PVX OS Server with dual-channel functionality. In this case, a single server implements communication with both systems via two Channel DLLs.

PCS 7/PVX OS DBA V6.1
This OS Engineering package contains the Database Automa-tion software as well as PROVOX-specific OS symbols, OS face-plates and OS diagnostics displays.
The Database Automation software automatically generates the OS database with the display hierarchy, required variables, in-terrupts, alarm signals and alarm priorities as well as the specific block symbols and faceplates. The display hierarchy is the basis for navigation between the process displays, for alarm manage-ment, and for implementing security measures. PCS 7/PVX OS DBA automatically places the type-specific block symbols, e.g. controller or analog input (AI), in the generated process dis-plays. These symbols are linked to the corresponding function blocks and faceplates through the database. Manual configura-tion is mainly limited to the design and positioning of the static graphic elements, e.g. tubes or tanks.
The PCS 7/PVX OS symbols, faceplates and diagnostics dis-plays created in line with the SIMATIC PCS 7 standard take into account the special properties of the PROVOX controllers.
The following table shows the currently supported types of PROVOX data. Each type contains at least one symbol and one faceplate (exception: PVX_UNIT contains only one symbol).

■ Overview
Many of the globally installed process control systems, for exam-ple the Honeywell TDC 3000/2000, have reached the end of their lifecycle. In the case of process control systems whose automa-tion, operation and monitoring systems are obsolete, the com-plete rip-out and replace procedure with retention of the field ca-bling is the best choice for future-oriented automation. With its migration solution, Siemens allows migration of a TDC 3000 DCS and restarting of the plant within the shortest possible time.
■ Benefits
Siemens’ migration solution leaves both the field cabling and the original Honeywell FTA cabinets (Field Termination Assemblies) where they are. Only the existing FTA modules are replaced by new Siemens FTA modules. The Siemens FTA modules have the same dimensions and are provided with the same connection el-ements and dimensions for the mounting holes as the Honeywell FTA modules. The existing, wired terminals are plugged onto the new FTA modules. These are connected in turn to SIMATIC PCS 7 I/O modules in a new cabinet. This migration strategy avoids the time and high costs resulting when rewiring the field devices.
Siemens offers replacement modules and connection cables for a wide range of Honeywell FTA modules. The new connection cables are plugged onto matching SIMATIC PCS 7 I/O modules. From this point in time, the plant can use the state-of-the-art pro-cess control technology from Siemens, the SIMATIC PCS 7 pro-cess control system with the powerful S7-400 controllers, and the Windows-based operator stations. The SIMATIC PCS 7 sys-tem can be started up extremely quickly, and production usually restarted within one day.
Since the process I/O remains unchanged, existing control pro-grams and screen displays can be copied manually into the new system, updated, and debugged prior to conversion. In order to complete the migration, the original Honeywell control cabinet can be replaced by a SIMATIC PCS 7 cabinet (automation sys-tem and process I/O modules).

■ Overview
Concerning the migration of Contronic P, Siemens has compre-hensive experience gained from a large number of projects.
Because of the very short remaining time for which the manufac-turer will still provide components, a complete replacement is the ideal solution. Tool-based conversion of migration data, con-version during operation, and correspondingly tailored integra-tion concepts for the field instrumentation are the services of our Migration Support Center for Contronic P.
The database-supported conversion of the engineering data provides a high degree of freedom from faults, and shortens the engineering times compared to new generation.
Many special features are also taken into consideration during the database-supported conversion, e.g. the conversion of con-troller parameters to produce the same effect. This safeguards the results of process optimizations which may have been esta-blished over many years.
The result is an original SIMATIC PCS 7 configuration in which plant engineers feel at home with regard to future modificati-ons/expansions.
■ Benefits
The added value of the change in system can be found in: • Easier operation (alarm hiding, fast navigation, etc.)• Reduction in maintenance requirements through status-based
asset management• Support of business processes when using e.g. SIMATIC IT
with retention of the IT security despite networking with office applications as a result of the PCS 7 security concept.

■ Design
We not only possess comprehensive plant know-how for many different industries, we can additionally offer the long-term expe-rience of our specialists in engineering, service and commissio-ning. Our experts initially analyze the plant data. The result is a clear and detailed quotation of how the plant can be migrated to SIMATIC PCS 7.
Short downtimes are an absolute prerequisite for low-cost con-version. Everything must be at the right location at the right time. Together with the customer, our migration specialists elaborate a detailed and realistic plan for the complete project manage-ment.
The software-based migration of Contronic P to SIMATIC PCS 7 is carried out in clear, individually tested steps. Existing configu-ration data are retained:• Export of the Contronic P application by means of a "memory
dump" of the user software, and importing into a database• Importing of the existing Typicals library corresponding to the
technological function blocks of Contronic P, based on the standard function blocks of SIMATIC PCS 7
• Conversion of the existing user software, where up to 80% is edited automatically.
A technologically correct conversion and traceability of the indi-vidual steps are decisive for the success of a migration proce-dure. Short restart times can only be achieved in this manner.
Our migration tools document the implemented conversion steps, and indicate where the automatic functions have reached their limits – and where a manual intervention is necessary. Fol-lowing completion of renewed commissioning, the customer has a modern plant which permits simple maintenance. Detailed do-cumentation is also provided.

■ Overview
Integration of FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 in SIMATIC PCS 7 via DP/FF Link
By means of the DP/FF Link, Siemens offers the possibility for in-tegrating FF H1 field devices into the SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system via PROFIBUS DP. The DP/FF Link supports cy-clic and acyclic communication. The hardware configuration and the detailed diagnostics of the FF-H1 components conform to the system. The FF-H1 components can also be integrated into the SIMATIC PCS 7 Asset Management.
The FF H1 integration into SIMATIC PCS 7 supports "control in the field", i.e. control with suitable field devices independent of the control system’s controller.
■ Design
• The router from PROFIBUS DP to the FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 (FF-H1) is implemented using the DP/FF Link bundle which consists of the following components: - PROFIBUS DP interface module Anybus DP-Link- Fieldbus Interface Module 3420 (FIM 3420) for four FF-H1
segments• Expansion limits:
- Max. 64 FF devices per DP/FF Link distributed between max. 4 FF-H1 segments with max. 16 FF devices each
- Max. 8 digital input modules, 8 digital output modules, 32 analog input modules and 16 analog output modules
• Central engineering of the DP/FF Link and FF field devices: - Configuration of PROFIBUS DP interface module of the
DP/FF Link on the PROFIBUS DP master system using HW-Config
- Configuration of the FF segment including "control in the field" applications, as well as parameterization of the FF field devices per Web interface via Ethernet

Software Licenses
13/7Siemens ST PCS 7.2 · July 2007

■ Overview
Software typesSoftware requiring a license is categorized into types. The following software types have been defined:• Engineering software• Runtime software
Engineering softwareThis includes all software products for creating (engineering) user software, e.g. for configuring, programming, parameteriz-ing, testing, commissioning or servicing. Data generated with engineering software and executable programs can be duplicated for your own use or for use by third-parties free-of-charge.
Runtime softwareThis includes all software products required for plant/machine operation, e.g. operating system, basic system, system expan-sions, drivers, etc.The duplication of the runtime software and executable pro-grams created with the runtime software for your own use or for use by third-parties is subject to a charge. You can find information about license fees according to use in the ordering data (e.g. in the catalog). Examples of categories of use include per CPU, per installation, per channel, per instance, per axis, per control loop, per variable, etc.Information about extended rights of use for parameteriza-tion/configuration tools supplied as integral components of the scope of delivery can be found in the readme file supplied with the relevant product(s).
License typesSiemens Automation & Drives offers various types of software license:• Floating license• Single license• Rental license• Trial license
Floating licenseThe software may be installed for internal use on any number of devices by the licensee. Only the concurrent user is licensed. The concurrent user is the person using the program. Use begins when the software is started. A license is required for each concurrent user.
Single licenseUnlike the floating license, a single license permits only oneinstallation of the software. The type of use licensed is specified in the ordering data and in the Certificate of License (CoL). Types of use include for example per device, per axis, per channel, etc. One single license is required for each type of use defined.
Rental licenseA rental license supports the "sporadic use" of engineering software. Once the license key has been installed, the software can be used for a specific number of hours (the operating hours do not have to be consecutive). One license is required for each installation of the software.
Trial licenseA trial license supports "short-term use" of the software in a non-productive context, e.g. for testing and evaluation purposes. It can be transferred to another license.
Factory licenseWith the Factory License the user has the right to install and use the software at one permanent establishment only. The perma-nent establishment is defined by one address only. The number of hardware devices on which the software may be installed results from the order data or the Certificate of License (CoL).
Certificate of licenseThe Certificate of License (CoL) is the licensee's proof that the use of the software has been licensed by Siemens. A CoL is required for every type of use and must be kept in a safe place.
DowngradingThe licensee is permitted to use the software or an earlier ver-sion/release of the software, provided that the licensee owns such a version/release and its use is technically feasible.
Delivery versionsSoftware is constantly being updated. The following delivery versions• PowerPack• Upgradecan be used to access updates.Existing bug fixes are supplied with the ServicePack version.
PowerPackPowerPacks can be used to upgrade to more powerful software. The licensee receives a new license agreement and CoL (Certificate of License) with the PowerPack. This CoL, together with the CoL for the original product, proves that the new soft-ware is licensed. A separate PowerPack must be purchased for each original license of the software to be replaced.
UpgradeAn upgrade permits the use of a new version of the software on the condition that a license for a previous version of the product is already held. The licensee receives a new license agreement and CoL with the upgrade. This CoL, together with the CoL for the previous product, proves that the new version is licensed.A separate upgrade must be purchased for each original license of the software to be upgraded.
ServicePackServicePacks are used to debug existing products. ServicePacks may be duplicated for use as prescribed accord-ing to the number of existing original licenses.
License keySiemens Automation & Drives supplies software products with and without license keys. The license key serves as an electronic license stamp and is also the "switch" for activating the software (floating license, rental license, etc.).The complete installation of software products requiring license keys includes the program to be licensed (the software) and the license key (which represents the license).
Detailed explanations concerning license conditions can be found in the “Terms and Conditions of Siemens AG” or underhttp://www.siemens.com/automation/mall(A&D Mall Online-Help System)
