The Tomé Fèteira File Company was founded in 1856 by Joaquim Tomé Fèteira, and has grown to be a modern and diversified manufacturing plant with a worldwide established name in producing high quality professional products.

For more than one and a half centuries our constant technical research and development, and our highly skilled and trained workers have lead this company to be one of the most important manufacturers in Europe , and amongst the few top companies in the entire world.

The experience gained by Tomé Fèteira in the manufacturing of files and rasps is also being used to develop new metallurgical products with the same high performance quality. For example our new Smart Cut specially designed saw blades, are making worldwide success, and our IBS Forging Machines continue unbeatable concerning technology, efficiency and liability. We are also on the top of modern technology with our innovative IBS High Frequency Hardening Systems and our DST File Sharpening Systems.

As a reward for our outstanding performance, we are proud to inform that we have just been elected by Iapmei – Portugal’s Governmental Production and Export Institute, as PME Leader and PME Excellency 2010.

Tomé Feteira´s factory plant covers more than 35.000 square meters and is localized in the middle of Portugal, in Vieira de Leiria, one hour away from Lisbon’s Airport and Seaport using the A8 or A1 direct highways.

In more than 60 countries where our products are sold, Tomé Fèteira has a network of representatives, agents and distributors giving efficient backup service to buyers and users.

TECHNICAL INFORMATIONAll Tomé Feteira files and rasps are made of high

quality chromium alloy steel and hardened individually up to 64 HRC in order to assure an excellent grip even on very hard materials.

The hardness and the special depth of the teeth cuts on our files give them much more resistance to wear, even under intensive professional use.

Tomé Feteira produces hundreds of different types of files and rasps, varying in cross-section, size and cut. Our file measurements and the density of cuts are within the tolerances of standard specifications.

The most common cuts for normal files and rasps are Bastard- Cut 1 , Second Cut – Cut 2 and Smooth- Cut 3. Although, when precision files are concerned, Cut 0 – Very Coarse and Cut 4 – Dead Smooth, are also much requested. Also, Engineering files present a double cut / cross cut, while Sharpening files have only a single cut.

When you order, you must choose the file shape (flat, round, etc.), the size ( 150mm, 200mm, etc.) and the teeth cut ( bastard, smooth, etc). You will find more detailed ordering information at each catalogue page.

INFORMAÇÃO TÉCNICATodas as limas Tomé Fèteira são feitas em aço ao

crómio de alta qualidade e temperadas individualmente até a dureza de 64 HRC de forma a assegurar um corte de elevado rendimento mesmo em materiais muito duros.

A dureza e a profundidade do corte dos dentes conferem às nossas limas uma resistência excepcional ao desgaste, mesmo sob uso intenso e profissional.

A Tomé Feteira produz centenas de limas em diferentes perfis, tamanhos e cortes. As dimensões das nossas limas e a densidade dos cortes/ dentes estão de acordo com as normas standard.

Os tipos de corte/picado mais comuns são Bastardo- Cut 1 , Meio-Murço – Cut 2 e Murço- Cut 3. No entanto, no que diz respeito a limas de precisão, o picado Cut 0 – Muito Bastardo e o picado Cut 4 – Muito Murço, são também muito procurados. É ainda de notar que as limas para desbaste apresentam um picado duplo/cruzado enquanto que as limas para afiar ferramentas apresentam um picado/corte simples.
