ARAWI is a new system for Peruvian Jewelry Industry through the creation of a Community oriented towards: Fair Commerce, Fair Trade, equal conditions, co creation, craftsmanship; and economic and social development for minorities. The objective is to create a Community Studio instead of a regular design company; training minority groups from underdeveloped regions of Peru in order to deliver a new design approach to Jewelry which will be commercialize in Peru and in Europe through a partnership based in cooperation, proper manufacturing processes and shared responsibilities.Community: Experience artisans will train minorities to become the human resources under appropriate working conditions; creating a new economic activity for their area and improving their quality of life. Moreover, their native materials will be included in the jewelry pieces; stimu-lating an extra economic activity.A new design approach to jewelry: The design vision is to innovate in the relation between the pieces and users; creating a perceptional change by developing a mutable piece capable of de-construct itself; changing its aesthetics while flowing together with the users. Therefore, jewels could be timeless and become part of users life instead of their outfit. The project is oriented to have an impact in society, current bases of jewelry industry, manage-ment of manufacturing processes, user experience and new design approaches.

Dutch ManufacturingThe following pieces were developed in cooperation with the Dutch goldsmiths Tenzin Rongen and F. A. T. in order to compare the techniques and the work methodology between Peru and The Netherlands.
